Looks like there’s a few out there. Using a terminus Apollo lite action and krg or manners stock FWIW.

Accurates are my current favorite-- once you take a rat tail file to the front edge to extend the OAL. Well made and feed smoothly.

The MDTs are cheaper and also work. They don't need any file work like the Accurate's to support a long OAL. However, in my experience over 3 223 rifles they don't feed nearly as smoothly as the Accurate mags. With the MDT mags it feels like the case rim is dragging on the feed lips the entire time you are pushing the bolt forward, and the drag is pretty significant especially with the first 4-5 rounds out of the magazine.

That being said, in my experience neither the Accurate or MDT mags feed as smoothly as the old genuine AI 223 magazines, which fed like butter and were so smooth you often wondered if you actually chambered a round or if the mag was empty... but those AI 223 mags were prone to splitting at the seams, especially the last year or two of production. While my older production AI 223 mags are still going strong I also have a few made in the last year or two of production and those split after only a few months of use. I put them back together with good epoxy, but it's probably only a matter of time before they split again and dump the rounds all over the ground again.

I bought a Tikka Varmint that came with two Accurate mags and they were a bit finicky to get to feed right. I picked up a MDT poly mag and filed down the feed lips to the point that the bolt didn't drag and it fed grat. I sold the Accurate mags and bought two more MDTs, made the same mods, and they feed great. I opened them up a little with a rat tail file and can get over 2.6" COAL now.

Awesome feedback all! I think you guys will happy to see some of the new developments coming this year with some new mags too :D

That made my day. I recently picked up a 223 donor rifle that needs a chassis but I wasn't sure which mags to use. I think I'll hold off and see what is coming! If they're anything like the MDT 12 round steel mags I use for my 308 it'll be worth waiting. I also use the polymer 308 MDT mags and they're a good value, but not as smooth feeding as the steel ones.

I hope you guys are going to make the hybrid mags for .223. Those hybrid mags are legit! I run the met 223 all poly mags now and they work just fine, but the hybrid ones that y'all make in 308 are way better !

Got several of my mags from @cattleman99 (Snyder precision) - highly recommend them, and they definitely get stuff out super fast! First class folks!

I wondered about those hybrid mags. The straight poly ones are slightly lighter so I've been using them in my 308 hunting/scout rifle where I count ounces, but I certainly prefer the metal ones in other rifles. Starting from scratch with the 223 I might give the poly/metal hybrids a shot when/if they come out. Your "review" is all the encouragement I needed.
