why are most of the custom action makers using stainless? i remember reading that the chromoly actions were stronger and lasted longer, so i was wondering why the shift to stainless?
ive even heard that stainless is harder to mill and whatnot.
is it to do with corrosion resistance? thats about the only thing i can think of.

I wouldn't say better but the floating head is what makes the Savage a very accurate rifle right out the box. Also if your running a 284 win and decide you want to step up to a 7/300wsm. All you have to do is change the head to one with the mag bolt face instead of buying a new bolt or action.
