Basically I’m looking for the best 3-4.5 power bottom end scopes at the $3k, $2.5k, $2k, $1.5k price points (plus or minus $250 and used scopes included). I’m personally maxing out at the 2.5k price point but would love to come even further down if possible.

I’ve had Mark 5HDs and I think I would have been happy with them, but I wasn’t happy with their pr2 reticle as it wasn’t legible until deep in the zoom range and the mirage performance wasn’t the best.

I’ve heard good things about the LRP S3 and ATACR 4-16, but I’d love to hear y’all’s opinions about what else is out there and what would be a meaningful upgrade.

Thanks.

Nothing but good things to say about the S3. A friend sold all his ATACR’s (both 5-25 and 7-35’s) and replaced them with s3’s. Currently saving to buy a third I like them so much.

S3 is a great scope for the money especially when on sale. I have one on my comp centerfire and rimfire. Like it much better than the Leupolds. I know of a team that was sponsored by “V” and they have dropped them for the Zeiss.

For hunting, I like my Razor LHT 4.5-22. The reticle is quite visible on 4.5 power and the glass is pretty good. Better glass than my 3.3-18 XTR3

For the $3K+ range, the Kahles K318i is an amazing scope. I run one on my main hunting rifle. For the $2K range, the Zeiss LRP S3 is a great scope.

EuroOptic has an absolutely SMOKIN price on a "demo" (open box) K318i right now for almost $1000 off... This is the same exact scope I run.
