It was doctor’s day sometime last week where my wife works so the old fashioned kit she got is getting used. I’m enjoying this and checking on a brisket flat while the kids color eggs for Easter. Dry Land Distillers makes a whiskey at least good enough for an old fashioned but they sent a voucher for a free tasting flight. I’ll be doing my community service at some point and will report back

I just cracked open a bottle of the new Jack Daniels 12y last night and it’s FANTASTIC. Top 10 for sure, alongside the pappy, stagg and Larue offerings.

If you can find this at MSRP buy all of them and thank me later.

Apparently it sold out in the blink of an eye and it's going for $475-$700 on the secondary market. I guess other people like it too.

For what it's worth, I'd pay $150. Maybe $200 if I'm feeling bougie. No bourbon is worth over $200.

I really would take the JD over the Pappy (12y) though.

I don't think you know what sour mash is. It's a distillation process used by most distillers, regardless of whether or not it's stated on the label. Stagg is sour mash. So is Larue Weller.

If you stumble across it, try it. I bet you'll love it.

Yeah, like 99% of bourbon is distilled with a sour mash process. Just a light hearted, failed dig at a TN whiskey, vs. a KY bourbon.... LOL
