Just Pour’d this and can’t wait to try it. Never had the famous Batch 12
I remember some of y'all talking about horse soldier bourbon in a thread about Foul Mike awhile back ,so I thought I'd give it a try , not bad , not bad at all ,a little more than I'm used to spending on my everyday drinking whiskey but for special occasions I can see buying some of the 80 dollar a bottle stuff.and I like the fact that it was started by green berets from the Afghanistan war .

Horse Soldiers is one of my favorite bourbons. I have only had the legacy (silver label) single barrel. It comes in at 110 proof. I usually find it for $90 in my so. Every time I bring it out it’s a great conversation to those who do not know about the Horse Soldiers.

Agree. I have a few ABC picks “Reserve” that are delicious.
A gift from my daughter on Father's Day. Oddly enough I passed it by several times thinking..eh..next time...funny how as kids get older they are amazed at how much father's have learned over the years.....
Tried and line them all.. the willett was a pleasant surprise.. I’m not full of gay pallet and finish explanations but will simply say the willett was a pleasant surprise.

I have a bottle of that Willett I picked up on a whim earlier this year, I should open it.
I pop’d an Old Forester 1924. It has opened up nicely with some additional sweetness and depth. Been open for about 4 months

Glenfiddich single malt (the old special reserve was particularly nice.) It is a speyside and they use bourbon and sherry barrels from the USA. Keeping the coopers in business. In the USA, some places have rules that only so many batches can be aged in a barrel and then it must be replaced.
So a cooper disassembles them and they get shipped to Glenfiddich in Scotland to be reassembled.
Some people say it is the water in the Speyside region but I think it also has to do with the peat and the duration of the malting that helps give the smokey flavor.
I love Oban 14 as well. I have a bottle of Oban Distiller's Edition, which is good, but I think I prefer Oban 14. The price just came down so it makes it even more attractive.
Looking at what I have now, the Speyside scotches are about the same as the other Highland scotches.
Aberlour, Glendronach, Balvenie vs Oban, Clynelish, Glenmorangie.
Nothing real peaty.
Lone blend is Compass Box Artist's Blend for mixing Rusty Nails.
Buddy asked if I needed anything. Asked for 2 bottles of scotch so of course he got me 3 bottles of latest release bookers too.
