what are you guys loading in FGMM brass

specifically looking to use varget and 178 amax. maybe some 175 nosler custom comps and/or 175 SMK's as well. WLR primer.

I know on winchester brass, 43.5 of varget plays well.

just wondering if any major differences using FGMM and if anyone has already done the homework on it.

shooting from 22" rock 5r.

 Both 5 shot groups 100 yards

175 grain nosler custom comp. all weight matched seated 2.797-will vary with your rifle
43.1 grain right 43.8 grain left varget.
Federal GMM brass weight matched fire formed neck sized only trimmed 2.005 with full prep done on brass flash hole debur etc. etc.
federal 210m primer Weighed also I'm anal!
I set these rounds on a scale when I was done I segregate them I 5 shot groups they weighed within a 10th of a grain of each other the whole round.
Rifle is a savage 10 fcp-sr 308 24 in barrel 1in10

Nice man.Is the FGMM brass as bad as people say it is? I keep reading that its too soft,cant reload as much etc.

If you try for the max velocity node the life will be short. If you try for the node that scoutsout uses, I find 6 or more loadings to be reasonable. JMHO

Yea the primer pockets start getting loose after 4-6 loadings for me, then I just use my lapua brass.

Use IMR 8208 XBR and you wouldn't have to put that temp reading at the top of the target!

I only use fgmm brass with 43.3gns IMR xbr, 168smks and fed 210m primers for a very accurate combo out of my Ai Aw 308 18" rifle.

Shooting a Savage 10FP-SR-5R

FGMM
168gr A-MAX
42.0gr IMR 4895
Brass trimmed to: 2.005
COL: 2.805 (due to mag use, 2.83 shot better in my rifle)

This load is matching the factory 168gr FGMM round.

BTT. jus wanting to see if anyone else has any good advice for varget, FGMM brass and 178 amax. looks like the 43.1 and 43.8 work well.

What are the low and high for varget in the FGMM brass? I've been told that the high will be somewhat less than winchester brass due to capacity.

I'm using 43.5 Varget for both 175 SMK and 178 Amax with Wolf primers with FGMM trimmed to 2.005. Also getting pretty good brass life but I'm not trying to max out the load, just trying to be accurate. Getting one hole groups from two different rifles with these loads, a rem 5R 24" and a vanilla PBR 20" with both loads.

Ogive length is 2.232 for both loads, comes out to 2.810 OAL. The ogives are slightly different so die readjustment is needed. The 5r shoots the 175 SMK at 2620 fps, I don't remember the PBR and forgot the chronograph when trying the 178 loads. Both rifles shot both loads same POI at 100 yds.

I haven't noticed the primer pocket problem some have had, but supposedly Wolf are maybe a tenth bigger and I'm not loading super hot. The brass was once fired when I got 500 off GBroker, annealed after 4th and its still trucking on so far. I neck size and full length size when it gets sticky. Problems may be due to different batches, dunno.
