My rifle is a 7 BAT (7-300 WSM) and lord no it doesn't have a bedding block. I think that might cause me to stroke out. I've got 2 more in the works but it's going to be a while before anyone here sees them.

I'm going to have to add that Terry's boomer has really caught my attention. It's going to need a silencer and a UNS mount but I'm digg'n it!

Not calling anything. Just showing enthusiasm if something like this was to ever come to fruition. A gal I knew a few years back started to try and organize something like this. It was through a casino here in Deadwood, SD. Along the same lines as a "biker build off". The problem became with deciding criteria, application, judging, etc.

For instance:

If "Mr. X" shows up with a Palma rifle decked to the nines, how does it get compared with "Mr. Y's" heavy tactical gun?

It would obviously have to be sorted out according to classes/categories.

Could be pretty cool. Maybe someday. . .

So everyone does the large caliber builds.... nothing in the way of some really dope .22lr's? Then again I have a thing for a nice .22.

To even it out and not compare Apples to Oranges it could be set up like the old IROC car racing series. All competitors start with the exact same components, build the rifles in their own shops (honor sysytem on any time restraints or complete package of components delivered at the same time and each smith takes as long as they want up till the time the next part of the competition begins.) Everyone meet at a pre arranged time and location for a shoot off at 200, 600 and 1000 yds.The gunsmith can shoot or he can designate someone to shoot for him. Alternatively a preselected group of marksmen, who are not told who's rifle they are shooting, shoots the course. Afterwards the rifles would be auctioned off via the internet. with all proceeds going to Wounded Warrior Project etc. Fun to think about.

Well, I'm not interested in any type of competition, just answering the original question. There is no way could compete with you guys any how. Below is what is mine, and they all get shot. The favorite is the short 308, with the camo Creedmore running on it's heals.

from front to back, and lastly on the right side, it goes like this.

6.5x47 Lapua
6.5 Creedmore
260 Remington
300 WM
308 Win

There is a plethora of beautiful rifles in here, the wood on the rifle from APA and the Russo stocks have me drooling... I am such a sucker for a fine piece of furniture.

Ozzie, I keep meaning to ask you:

What's the blue bolt lube you're using? It seems to work pretty nicely on the rifle you built me and I'm thinking about getting some more (even though I've got a lifetime supply of Hoppes Gun Grease and M14 Grease already)

I'll get some pics of the last STR build to leave the shop before closing the doors. It's a shooter too. Not a heavy tac build, but a really nice, handy little rifle.

STR, I really do enjoy you videos. I recently watched the building of the 6.5 Creedmore. Very nice. How did you do the paint job? Really classy looking. I hate to hear that you are retiring, but glad to think that now you can shoot what you built. It's what I plant to do. Take care.

That blue grease is made by Bore Tech, and it's called Extreme Grease. One little seringe will last a life time. Well, maybe not in your case, LOL!! Enjoy your rifle in good health, life is very short, even if you live to be 90.

That particular paint job was very simple. I shot a base coat of Armor black cerakote, flashed it for 7 minutes at 150 degrees F, took it out of the oven, very, very carefully wrapped it in the camo netting. Now I shot light coats of two different colors at random. I very carefully unwrapped it, and cooked it in the oven for 2 1/2 hours at 150 Degrees F. Simple...

BTW, I am very happy to be a hobby builder again. Now I have time to shoot on the weekends, and sometimes during the weekdays. Plus I get to do the most important job a parent can do. Teach. Thank you for your compliments.

I also want to take a second to thank all you guys that dedicate your selves to building high quality rifles, and give those who wish to have something special the option. The option to have something out of the ordinary. I know how much work you put into it, and I appreciate it. Thanks.

i'm just a garage hack hobbyist, not a <span style="font-style: italic">real</span> builder but here are a couple i shoot.

this is my .284 winchester that i shoot long range matches with. it's a trued remington long action with a ptg bolt. i just rebarreled it with a 9 twist broughton barrel finished at 31" long. i use a nightforce nsx 5.5-22 moa/npr1 scope. i'll find out how it does with the new barrel after this weekend's match.

this is my shorty .308 play toy. it's built on a stiller tac30. it has a bartlien 11.25 twist that i fluted and finished at 18.5". this one has a nightforce f1 moa/nprf1 scope. it's still pretty heavy but it's a really handy rifle.

I’m not a “Snipers Hide builder” per say but I do build my own rifles and compete with them in tactical precision rifle matches here in the south west. I will have to add a picture later this evening. My current rifle’s specs are;

Stiller TAC-30 action
Rock Creek 1-8” twist MTU 6.5mm 26”
Chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor +0.002” head space
Muzzle run out timed at 12 O’clock
Jewell HVR trigger set at 1.5 lbs.
