Plus I figure it'd be impossible to have sufficient pics for any conceivable combination of conditions and thus would avoid getting into a "You advertised X when it wasn't like that when I tried it!" issue. Also that computer monitor color/resolution/whatever settings might not give a 100% accurate depiction (my own monitor's colors are a bit off and I haven't been able to remedy the issue, for example).I think the OP means life sized scope view picture so we judge the clarity, light collecting, reticle and all that as we are gonna see it thru the scope.
I think they don't usually do that because it looks so much different to different eyes.
VooDoo
There are a few scopes that websites show the reticle on lower magnification, which makes it a blob of lines in the illustration. Not sure if that's what the op is talking about?
Are we sure that's what he means?Yep. He is referring to a real-world view through the optic, not a vector drawing of the reticle.

Maybe it just me, i nearly always have a hard time finding it or not at all.
What websites are you looking at that don't have a picture like that? 'Cause every one I've looked at from Leatherwood to Leupold has a nice big picture of the reticle available, as I said, either on the scope page or on a FAQ/reference page. Sometimes they even list scopes by reticle like so:Thats the way it should be!
“When you want the best, you expect the best. Demand the best. Demand Quigley-Ford.”Thats the way it should be!
High-quality German glass + Chinese aluminum tubes = unbeatable combination.“When you want the best, you expect the best. Demand the best. Demand Quigley-Ford.”
Im sorry, i didn't make myself clear, a drawing is usually easier for me to see what the reticle looks like.Yep. He is referring to a real-world view through the optic, not a vector drawing of the reticle.
I generally agree but i dont like “ christmas trees “or busier than christmas trees, i also dont like mil dots, with a good picture, i can eliminate these.I don’t know for sure. Not like we can do anything about it anyhow though. Rifle scopes seem to be sold, mounted and utilized regardless of what the distributors and retailers do to market them.
You don’t buy reticles on how they look. You buy them based on the conditions where it would be utilized, and the data the visually represent. There isn’t a single through-scope image that I would trust without being behind that particular optic in-person. Everyone is different in their purchasing process though and I can respect that.
Yeah, it's a Bass Pro catalogue. Which, as you say, doesn't typically include pics of reticles. Sometimes, maybe, but on the back page of the catalogue, nah. Of course it's been a long while since I've gotten one of them so I could be wrong. To be fair, that appears to be back page ad space on a mailer, so they don’t have room for adding more images or information. It also allows them to direct you to another source of information, so you can learn more. If they included all of the reticles and designs in a flier, you’d get a mini book mailer like what LaRue puts out in their orders. More investment in an outdated medium equals an increased financial burden on consumers in a competitive market.
Also it’s Voetex, they are extremely popular and don’t need to show their reticle designs in back page ad space on mailers. However I understand how it can be frustrating if one didn’t have easy access to a computer/smart phone/internet or halfway decent gun shop.

If i remember right, duplex i too plain to me. I know that i like NF moar and moart. So duplex or TMR?
as i mentioned, scopes may come with many options. posting one option over another could be misleading.I generally agree but i dont like “ christmas trees “or busier than christmas trees, i also dont like mil dots, with a good picture, i can eliminate these.
