I carry a Glock 9X19 and have done so for about 2 1/2 years. I carry it in a Crossbreed IWB holster with my shirt tucked in. I am 5-9 and weight 145. The thing is that I have a devil of a time keeping my gun from printing. I also have a LCP .380 that I can carry in my pocket if necessary but prefer not to if possible. The problem is that while at work I cannot have my gun printing so I am wondering what other people are carrying and more importantly how they carry it i.e. (holster type, clothing, ect..)

Re: What I carry and how I carry it. How do you carry?

I carry a Glock 19 in a Tritin kydex IWB holster when I'm wearing a jacket, sweater, heavy shirt, or if I don't care that it may be a little noticeable. I carry a Keltec PF9 with a belt clip if I'm wearing light clothing and it has to be completely concealed. All my carry methods require that I have an untucked shirt or jacket, though.

Re: What I carry and how I carry it. How do you carry?

I'm 5'8" 185. I carry a Springfield TRP. Wearing a light jacket/sweatshirt in a Galco Royal Guard iwb. Suit/sport coat or heavy jacket, in a Galco Royal Deluxe. On the range or in the field in a Blackhawk Serpa CQC.

And when I wear a kilt, in a Maxpedition PALS front Active Shooter bag.

Re: What I carry and how I carry it. How do you carry?

Smith airweight J-frame in a Galco King Tuk (same as crossbreed)
13 ounces in a great holster = I forget it's there until I sit down in my chair at night.
I'm 5'10 and 155, and that tiny grip on the jframe doesn't print unless I'm wearing a ridiculously tight t-shirt (Which I don't do haha) I just wear jeans and t-shirts, but the nice thing about the king tuk is that you can tuck in your shirt with it as well if you want.

Counterfeitgodz, why do you not like carrying the LCP? I mean, to each his own, but I'm just wondering.

Re: What I carry and how I carry it. How do you ca

Glock 22 and 27 in a Milt Sparks VM2 IWB holster. I've tried a bunch and the VM2 is by far the best. I carry every day, sometimes 8+ hrs. You can't beat this holster for comfort and concealment. Have carried a G22 for over 10yrs in a VM2 and just recently got the G27. Mitch Rosen's ARG is another great IWB holster, but I like the double belt loops of the VM2. Very stable.

Re: What I carry and how I carry it. How do you ca

Glock 27 IWB in a Bianchi Professional off duty.

On duty the same 27 rides on my concealable vest and I carry a Glock 22 in a Safariland 6280 holster wearing a M6 tactical illuminator. For SWAT call outs it rides in a 6004 as a secondary to a Rockriver AR15 w/giggle switch.

Re: What I carry and how I carry it. How do you ca

HK .45 compact in a Blackhawk QCB paddle holster 80% of the time. When it's cold and I'm mostly outside with a jacket I carry a HK tactical .45 in a Galco shoulder holster the other 20%. It's all concealed but if it prints a little I'm not to worried about it. Most of the sheeple around here wouldn't know what it is anyways.

Re: What I carry and how I carry it. How do you carry?

G30 or G36 or 1911 in leather OWB holster. Occasionally the G36 goes IWB. Most of my IWB carry is with S&W BG380; typically going out with the wife or go out with friends. Prints a bit less but still allows the ability to have some firearm with me. I typically carry a spare mag as well.

I wonder if Bob Munden just carries like in the old west when he goes out-n-about? HmmmM!

Don Hume, tucks inside of pants, I wear western shirts that easily cover it, also 5"10, 175. I usually carry kimber 1911 or springfield xd 45'10

Re: What I carry and how I carry it. How do you carry?

Various full size 1911s. Standing I would be 5'10" 230, but in my chair I use a Maxpedition Jumbo Versapack to carry all my stuff, pistol and several reloads.

Re: What I carry and how I carry it. How do you carry?

Sig P239/.357Sig most of the time in a Galco King Tuk (IWB) at 4:30 and a spare mag in a pocket. Unless I bend over you never see it- it completely disappears. However- belt has to go to the next bigger hole.

Sig P220/.45Auto when I have a heavy jacket on in a Galco Jackass 2 (Shoulder rig with mag pouch on opposite side)

5'9 180lbs if that matters

Re: What I carry and how I carry it. How do you carry?

Just switched to a Walther P99 in a High Noon holster (horse hide - holds up better and doesn't allow sweat to get through to the weapon as much). Some other alternatives for work would be a backpack, brief case or orginizer that zips.

Re: What I carry and how I carry it. How do you carry?

I carry a ruger lcp almost always except at work, where I can't. I leave it in my truck and put it right back in my pocket when I leave. I carry it in my back pocket in a pocket pal and it prints like a wallet.

I also carry on occasion my kimber ultra carry II in a Milt Sparks VMII. I'm making a move over to Glock 19 as my carry gun and just ordered a Comp-Tac Minotaur MTAC Holster. We'll see how I like it, it's reviewed pretty well. I like having the leather close to the skin and the though of having kydex. I had a problem with my Milt Sparks in a class during an exercise of laying down on the ground and engaging my target....when I layed down on my right side, it deformed the milt sparks and I couldn't re-holster without pulling it off my belt and reforming it.

I have read that the law has changed for this and other type of pocket holsters that can be fired without removing the weapon from the holster. I think you have to register it and pay for a federal permit to use it.

Here is one I made for about $2. Scroll down to post #3.

That's the exact reason I got a Galco King Tuk. Leather inside and a kydex shell outside- very comfortable, very secure, and re-holstering is extremely easy as long as you make sure the top of the kydex is slightly (mine is set approx. 1/4") above the top of your jeans/pants- other wise sometimes when you try to re-holster- the pants will fold over and go into the holster.

Re: What I carry and how I carry it. How do you carry?

I've worn one of these regularly for the last four years with a G26.

http://www.activeprogear.com/234.html

Here are some things I've learned:

1.) Wear it with an undershirt to prevent it from absorbing your perspiration, chafing your skin, and smelling like a dirty jock strap.

2.) Wear it frequently so you get comfortable with it, else you will look like a preteen fidgeting with a training bra; a sure sign that you are carrying.

3.) Solid, light color shirts print the easiest. Wear a dark shirt preferably with a printed pattern to help break up the strap lines.

4.) If you wear button collar oxford shirts (my daily attire), keep the 4th button undone. This will facilitate faster entry inside your shirt and prevent snagging upon retrieval. You will be surprised how few people will notice, and those that do will typically be too self absorbed to say anything.

5.) If you intend to carry a small auto, keep a full magazine in the holder sleeve/s of the opposite side of the holster. This is not for extra ammo during a fight, but rather for ballast to assist the rig in returning to a comfortable balanced position. The rig will move with you which is what you want. What you don't want is for it to "walk" to the heavy side with each movement, ultimately requiring large scale move "re-adjustments".

6.) If you intend to carry a small revolver, carry a roll of coins of appropriate denomination (weight) in the magazine sleeve/s opposite your revolver for ballast. Put speed loaders or extra magazines in your coat pocket or pants pocket where you can retrieve them quickly.

7.) Remember that this isn't a "fast draw" rig. The objective is deep concealment, so you can produce a firearm when previously dismissed as having one. With practice you will be able to draw fairly quickly, but you need to spend some time working with it.

8.) Re-holstering is done "blind". You need to be conscientious about this and learn to re-holster safely.

9.) Be aware of your body movements. You move very naturally with this rig once you get used to it, but it's easy to forget you have it on and move in a way that compromises concealment. Overhead arm stretches (my personal habit) broadcast the handgun's presence.

10.) I don't have a number "10" but my obsessive/compulsive disorder wouldn't let me leave the list at only "9" points.

I did a ton of research on the legality of the pocket pal before I bought it, general consensus seems to be that it does not fall within the AOW realm....here is some info I was able to dig up really quick. I haven't seen or heard anything recent that says anything to the contrary, but I would hate to find out the hard way.

<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body"> I just received a copy of the Report of Technical Examination from the Dept. of Treasury/Bureau of ATF/Firearms Technology Branch that says as follows regarding the Pocket Pal Wallet Holster mfgd by Concealment Concepts---"Does not conceal the appearance of the pistol. There is a hole permitting operation of the trigger. However, it merely encloses the grip and trigger guard of the pistol and extends in front of the grip and below the slide. The entire slide of the pistol is exposed" The conclusion: "It is not subject to the provisions of 18 U.S.C.Chapter 44 or 26 U.S.C. Chapter 53" It further says "A pistol such as a Kel-Tec P3AT or P32 combined with the Exhibit, would not meet the definition of an "any other weapon" in Section 5845(c) of Title 26 U.S.C." This document was dated 6/5/00 and sent by Firearms Enforcement Officer Curtis H.A.Bartlett to Special Agent James L. Ruffin of the Bureau of ATF. </div></div>

Re: What I carry and how I carry it. How do you carry?

Winter time: Glock 26 or 17 in a Galco King Tuck, does a good job spreading out the weight.

Summer time: Sig Sauer P238, .380 auto, in a blackhawk soft generic holster. Even with just a T-shirt it doesn't having any print problems.

Re: What I carry and how I carry it. How do you carry?

Glock 20 full size 10mm. I carry in a kydex inside the waist band holster when in town without a jacket. I carry outside the waistband in a kydex holster when wearing a jacket in town or when traveling outside of city limits. The outside the waist band holster is fitted for my rail mounted light. The inside the waist band holster is not fitted for the light. Quality full power 10mm loads purchased from the smaller ammunition manufacturers is some serious medicine.

Re: What I carry and how I carry it. How do you carry?

I'm a 1911 guy but lately have been going with a tricked up S&W M&P in 40 or 45 and using a CB Super Tuck Deluxe. Very happy so far.

Re: What I carry and how I carry it. How do you carry?

I've been carrying a 3" Kimber 1911 for a couple years OWB. Using a Galco holster and belt (Galco belts, btw, deserve their own thread. They are absolutely epic. They make 'normal' belts look like girly-man belts).

I wear an untucked button up shirt every day to work (it's good to be the boss...).

Thinking about switching to another gun...maybe a USP? I love how the USP feels and surely it's lighter than the 1911, which feels like a brick.
