    WT actual F???

"She shot at the police twice. She has shot at her mother twice. She has shot at a private citizen. We know she fired other rounds around town,” James told the paper.

Blackwell Police Lieutenant John Mitchell managed to pull in behind the active shooter’s vehicle.

"He took his AR-15 and he started shooting through the front windshield at her,” James said, according to The Oklahoman.

Imagine the effect this could have on police response? On the one hand, they can be fired for NOT responding (see Parkland school incident). Never minding that they have no such legal duty. On the other hand, they could be charged with murder FOR responding appropriately. "Damned if you do, damned if you don't."

    WTF?!?

The only two things from this article that jump out at me:

They fired addition rounds after the vehicle was stopped.

    And 60 rounds fired.

My guess is a prosecutor that is trying to cover thier own ass for the court of public opinion. Nothing else makes sense. My simple question for the courts, judge, jury of dumbass prosecutor is why would any police officer want to do their job if they're going to be charged for doing that job?

The vehicle being stopped does not mean the threat has stopped. The threat is the perp firing a gun at people. The number of rounds is irrelevant, IMO. But, yeah... the sheeple won't like that. Too bad. So what?

But, yeah... the police now have to worry about being charged for DOING the job (like in this case) or NOT doing the job (Parkland). Who would want to be a cop????

It's getting so fucking stupid nowadays the way they seem to handle such situations. They need to make up their own mind and decide what the actual fuck is the way LEOs should react to these situations. They would not be given training on active shooter situations if they did not want the LEOs to handle said situations. An officer is trained to do as he did in this case, and then ends up facing prison time?

It should be handled like Grady does it.

If I remember correctly it was 87 times...

    Now active shooters have rights?
aren’t they immediately identified as domestic terrorists?

No, those would be firearms enthusiasts who spread the cancer of the Second Amendment. I think there has been some line blurring in regard to this situation, and unfortunately Officer Rambo is rustling the wrong jimmies with his effective mortal control of the situation.

I bet the dashcam footage would clear up some of missing info in the story.
    By the story.
    1. Reports of shots fired from vehicle.
    2. Officer Harry Callahan arrives and starts pursuing.
    3. Shots are fired at Officers Callahan and Tackleberry.
    4. Callahan used his M4 to return fire through his windshield.
    5. Suspect comes to a stop.
    6. Callahan exited patrol car and finished emptying the magazine.

Did suspect deserve a chance to surrender when the vehicle stopped?
    Yes she did.
When the suspect stopped the vehicle was it an attempt to surrender?

I am betting that the dashcam footage could clear up some of the questions.

When have we ever gotten the whole story from the so called journalist? We usually get an article with an agenda.

John is a very good friend of mine. I fact he and his sons are of the very few people that I let deer hunt on my farm ground. He took over for me as President of my youth football league and serves on my High School Football Quarterback Club. He had a daughter with special needs who passed away and they created an organization in her name to create facilities for other special needs. He and his family are outstanding people. He has been under constant public persecution in our town because he is a LEO. I can't imagine this not coming to an end soon. Prosecuting DA is liberal and trying to make a name for himself. Sad and frustrating.

In a world where certain police departments have already come out saying they will not take any proactive action unless called and requested, this sadly confirms that position and behavior. Ultimately, it leads down a bad road. With no one wanting to be law enforcement, departments will be short personnel. To fill these vacancies, they will have to lower standards (raising pay and/or attractiveness of job won't be allowed). The lower standards result in a less competent and lower quality force that will ultimately continue to cut corners to survive. Once they cut enough corners as a department, its easy for officers to justify cutting corners in their individual decisions and the whole thing turns corrupt and ugly. I'm glad I'm not in a LE role anymore and fear where things are headed for those who sincerely took that oath.

This "prosecuting DA" sounds to me like someone that would sue a paramedic for breaking his ribs whilst he was having a heart-attack and the paramedic was giving CPR.

For this whole debacle to be happening, and for all the negativity that this is creating.... this DA and EVERYBODY who's involved with this prosecution/persecution needs to be held accountable, pay out of their own pockets, and when they run out of funds..... they can part themselves out for the organ needs.

Society is 'supposed' to be better..... isn't it?

So with all the shitbag murderer cops that avoided justice, THIS is the guy they're gonna go after?

A broken fucked up system doesn't even cover it... At least a system makes some sort of sense. This is just broken and fucked up, period, end stop.

Sounds like our political system at work to me --bet anything prosecuting DA will be running for congress or some shit in the near future, likely wanting to side with the "D" oligarchs, and this will look good to them. If he can manage to free some murdering illegals he may even make it to US Attorney General when the next shitbag with a D takes over in 2021. Yay America!

The Justice system has gotten to the point where it punishes those who are in the right and allows criminals to walk free. The Justice system has the smallest section of the Constitution, is it any wonder why it is the most corrupt.

We already know gun control laws are nothing more than workplace safety laws for criminals. Because who would want their victim to be armed while they're at work after all.

Our education system is the same.

So let me think this out for a moment. We want/need LEO's to do their jobs, to make us feel safe and secure in our neighborhoods, but when they do do their jobs, stopping a bad person, they get charged with murder? OH and .gov wants to make sure the sheeple are disarmed, so we can't protect ourselves from the shit that's coming across our F'n borders and the shit we have already got here, because there is going to be a HUGE vacuum in recruits to become the new LEO's we will need to count on, and this is a good thing?? I feel a PURGE happening real soon, WTF AMERICA?? I can't believe anyone in .gov, that's a TRUE American, would let this kind of shit go on. These kind of laws need not to be considered, right off the bat. This is complete horeshit, Mac

I'm so glad to see the citizens of OK and FOP on a national level standing with this officer. That activist DA needs to be smacked down hard, I hope he faces repercussions.

@trippin, your friend is getting railroaded. If you're not burning up social media with this travesty, start. He (and other LE) needs all the help he can get. Everyone with a badge ain't Comey and Muller.

    Keep this story alive.

    God bless America
