I am just getting ready to start shooting field course "Tactical" matches. I am not new to competitive shooting so I understand the value of having a plan for your practice session.

What particular exercises or drills do you work? What concepts do you work together?

Any advise would be appreciated.

Practice skills which are your weakest, in addition to the fundamentals as alluded to by Graham. For HP, I practice my standing position most frequently, since I produce lower scores from that position than from other positions, which are close to perfect. For LR, I like to shoot the MR-31 reduced course target, as it reveals any divergence in my position from shot to shot. Since my LR practice is about building position consistency I am satisfied this sort of practice is efficient. Scores indicate consistency is indeed being developed. Keep in mind the purpose of the practice and record the results from each session. You want to observe progress. If you do not see progress, consult a highly qualified coach to suggest a proper practice schedule.

As above, spend the time, money and effort on weak points. I use the 1000 inch target at 25 standing. Getting the 25 yard range is easier than a 100 or 200 for me.
