I quit carrying pocket knives a couple years ago, this has been my daily belt knife for a year and a half. This has done everything from opening mail and boxes, to cutting summer sausage and cheese, skinning a deer, and on one occasion cauterized a buddy's wound.

Normally I just have my Sig in my pocket, and you can open a package or peel a fruit with it, it’s just more dramatic.

Usually a benchmade some-fucking-thing, dunno, have had it maybe 30 years or so, long since forgot model.
I think it's ATS34, but I could be wrong.
Other times it might be a custom BlackJack in 52100 ball bearing steel, or a original Cold Steel tanto from the 1980s in SanMai.
Even other times a little ripper I made from W1 steel....or the other one I made from O1.
Depending on circumstances I might even leave the house w/o a knife.
Probably have 50 or so good quality knives that are worth carrying....some worth lots of money, some worth shit.
If it cuts clean and smooth I could seriously care less what someone else thinks of it.
I damn sure never cared about what color it is.

Reason I carry my shit on every run is….it’s 0340 hrs , totally dark. No leash laws for dogs , see all sorts of critters …Coyotes , Skunks , Coons , Possums, etc. Don’t want bit nor take rabies shots.
The BIGGEST reason I pack heat & knives while running is the two legged animals we call man.
Towns full of Hispanics that don’t like gringos. Meth heads abound.

Seeing as I’ve only missed running 3-4 days since 2019 ,best be vigilant

Emerson.. bought the week before I went to Iraq in 2008, and been in my pocket, on my kit, pretty much every day since. Tanto blade so its not the sharpest thing around, but its gets ABUSED at work on a Navy Destroyer, or out on the range teaching Crew Serve Weapons
