What Magnum Has the Best Barrel Life?

But it’s not a magnum. Not appreciated.

If you are a reloader, you can turn ANYTHING into a "magnum"... However, you proceed at your own risk...

Say the masters of mayhem and purveyors of fucktardery . As the jingle says " there's two scoops of fucktards in new fucktardios ".
Right up there with the jazz standard " Hey bus driver , don't touch me there . " .
Edit. I always figureed thorozine was like a shot not an Iv drip from a bag . Is that you Bender ?

Is my comment not appreciated? It's been 20 seconds and nobody responded. 😭😭😭

I was asleep Mike. I profusely apologize.
Besides.......you have a point, 9mm magnum....that's some impressive digging in the old cerebral cortex.
Yeah....I've decided I appreciate your comment. Damn fine job sir.

Hi,

22 Magnum all the way....

Sincerely,
Theis

...And have it bull-barreled and built up until the view from the muzzle end looks like a compact disc and the whole thing weighs 400+ lbs...

Mount it on the back of a spacecraft and start firing it on full auto as a reaction engine... It will be able to propel the thing to Alpha Centauri and even after 10,000 years of firing, there will STILL be some barrel left.

I just read the title and didnt read any of the replies.
Im gonna use my magical psychic powers and say that some people politely stated that if you can afford to run magnum cartridge you can afford to pay for a barrel swap or shouldn't be concerned with barrel life.

I am gonna go ahead and assume that OP gets annoyed by this.

I am also gonna assume that a bunch of people will chime in and say "go be poor somewhere else"

Am I close?

Both, my 300 rsaum and 300wsm are at about 2400rds each but I also do not hotrod them. I generally run about mid range loads which are plenty powerful enough for hunting and plinking steel out to 1000. I could easily bump them up another 2-300fps but the cost would be less brass life, shorter barrel life and more recoil. For me, its not worth it when I can just shoot a bigger cartridge if thats my goal.

Never mind all the particulars about the particularity about all this. the best barrel life is the 700 H&H. For the price of a small private jet, you can purchase the rifle, and for the price of a nice PRS custom rifle, one can purchase a few boxes of rounds. Once those are shot, one is either financially broke, or one’s shoulder is broke, either way, those two barrels on that double rifle will likely, with a little oil applied regularly and kept in a nice controlled environment, last pretty much forever.

This is not appreciated, there’s no 700 H&H cartridge.

<Cliff Clavin>Since Holland and Holland introduced the 700 Nitro Express, it is referred to by some as the 700 H&H.</Cliff Clavin>

It's irrelevant because it doesn't have Magnum in the name.
Had he asked which has the greatest stopping power, 700NE would be a good answer. ("After one shot, I want to stop.")

Magnum loads are so 20th century. I only shoot "Supers" now. Even for pistol - I just discovered a brand new round called the "38 Super" - shoots great in a 1911 too!
But, but, Supers are so Early 20th Century

Well, the 700 is a cartridge created for the Holland and Holland 700 Double Rifle. Hummmmm
