ok im working on a rem 700 aacsd 308 im goin to go with the night force scope 5.5x22- 50 do i need low or medium hight rings to keep it as low to the barrel without touching thanks in advance for the help

You'll need at least medium rings depending on the base or bases you use with a 50mm objective scope. I need medium rings (I prefer Leupy STD rings/bases on all my hunting rifles because the external windage adjustment for the rear ring allows me to set up for sighting in at mechanical zero for windage. You'll need to match the ring style to the base style to get it all to work.) for my 44mm objectives. I'm currently acquiring a 50mm objective scope so I'll have to measure.

If in doubt, contact NF customer service or a good gunsmith...they'll be able to help you.

Hope this helps,

FH

What about the rest of the equation? do you have a two or one piece base, how tall is it, how much $$$$ you wanna spend? QD or not? ect.

I have the same rifle but different scope. Vortex PST 6-24x50
Rem 700 AAC-SD 308. Nightforce 20 MOA base. Vortex low rings .87"
Works great for me. Still a little room between scope and barrel for covers
