Conquest 3.5-10x44 with rapid z 600 is my favorite hunting scope for medium long range. This is a solid fairly light scope but no parallax adjustment. No parallax adjustment is a drawback for longer range, but it's simpler and faster to acquire a target without having to worry about focus. One thing to know about the rapid z reticle scopes is that they are factory adjusted for parallax at 300 yds unlike the regular conquests at 100 yds.

On our predator calling rifles we use nightforce 3.5-15x50 on one 22-250 a vortex razor hd gen ll 1-6x24 on another 22-250 and the same scope on a 300 black out

I use a 4x16 pst ffp on my ar15 for coyotes .223 and 6.8spc
Nightforce f1 on my 6.5 creedmoor deer/coyote/competition
And a cheaper leupold gold ring hunter (not sure of model) 4x12 on my .270 deer slayer. No more than 100yd shot with it.

In Ohio I can only hunt with a muzzle loader and shotgun. I've had good success with the Leupold Ultra Slam 3-9x40 with the BDC on both my TC Pro Hunter and Savage 220F. Killed three deer with both guns this year. Farthest shot was 150 yards with the Pro Hunter right through the heart. Deer ran 40 yards and dropped.

I have a few of the ziess scopes and for pure daytime hunting they are a joy. But for my predator/farm protection/oh shit guns, they all wear accupoints now. Either in 1-4 with a yellow dot #4 reticle or 3-9 with yellow dot crosshair. For low light or no light shots, the glass is super clear and the yellow dot shows up on yotes/foxes very easily. Kill shots in less than ideal situations are normal, not the exception.

Leupold 2.5X8 is all I've ever needed on a 16"barreled Remington 600 in .308, from P-dogs to Elk and big bear,..lite is right.

If your just using as a hunting rig and want low weight I would shy away from the heavy tactical scopes with turrets that can be moved by bush, scabbards, or just riding on your back rubbing your pack plus they normally have very thin reticle that will wash out. If your budget will allow the best glass on the market then please consider the Swarovski Z6 2.5-15x44 with Plex reticle, it only weights 21oz the glass resolves better than scopes twice it's price. It's simply the best hunting scope on the market.

Took 7 deer this year with those combos, plenty of meat in the freezer.

Tikka Sporter .308 with new Leupold Vx6 3-16 on Warne Ramp mount with Burris Fast Fire 3 red dot. The red dot is on a 45 degree offset and I have used it to kill a 125lb hog that crept up on me at 25 yds! The Leupold vx6 is amazingly clear and with the 18x mag at the top end I can make those 300yd shots easily. I am older and I like higher magnification. I echo what the earlier hunter said about light weight. It's a major consideration.
