ATACR 1-8 FC-DMx reticle for everything out to 300y for "practical shooting".
ATACR 4-16x42 Mil-XT for target shooting beyond that.
I typically run 2 separate optics on an 18" depending on the task. But I always run a mini dot sight on an offset in addition to my magnified optics.
Unfortunately no. But it's coming soon. But based on the specs of the reticle the only big question is how bright is it in daylight at 1X. Everything else looks real solid. I have high expectations for the DMx version.Do you personally have the 1-8 with the FC-DMx reticle?
i have been very curious about how that reticle performs at 1x and what it looks like through the scope.

Quality weighs more. If it’s light, it’s junk.
This is the correct balance in life if you don’t have a lot of money.i think your Nightforce cost twice as much as my AR15.
Only if that thing comes with a car alarm and a megaphone...Stop listening to all these Pog Fobbit momma’s basement Pornhub Platinum members and hear the truth I’m about to lay down...

This is what real operators, like me, use. Accept no substitute.

Nikon is out of the rifle scope business last I checked. If I had only one AR and one optic for everything that I like to do it would be the Nikon M-223 2-8x. I'm not just guessing. I have that one plus one with an Eotech and one with a 4-16x.

We are reaching the stage where dual-use/multi-use scopes are becoming/have become a thing for the AR-15. In fact, many of the dual-use scopes exceed the performance capabilities of 5.56 chambered AR-15s, and you can spoil yourself on at least a dozen older high performance LPVOs for 16” and shorter AR-15s and probably never feel out-glassed.
3-15 or 3-18 would be my pick if I had an 18 inch of weights not a concern a gen 2 razor 3.6-18 can be bought on here for pretty reasonable money. My 18 inch FN CHF Wylde chambered 1 in 8 inch twist AR15 shoots like a laser out to 300yds with my buddy's large scope. What is the most appropriate size scope for it?

Already been mentioned a bunch but I think the 3-18 is about perfect. AR's these days are so stinking accurate no reason not to have some higher zoom zoom for longer range shots.
Photo taken at Competition Dynamics Team Safari. My partner and I added some top notch sun shades to help out with the morning sun. Shots taken from 200-600 yards with relative ease.
