What stock pack for a SASS with PRS stock?

I have been using on of these with a bit of the fil removed and things seem to be working well.

Um...ok. That would be a REAR BAG and NOT a "stock pack." ;)

The PRS, and most ALL AR buttstocks in general, don't lend themselves to stock packs unless you can just get them REALLY far back on the stock so that there is still ample room for the CH to clear (which isn't easy). Also, on the PRS, just because of the way it is designed/functions, adding a stock pack usually means you'll have to mod the stock pack somewhat (usually the straps at a min, if not otherwise). There are a couple people here who've done it in the past and while I don't personally recommend it, you can give it a whirl if you so desire. Try running a search about modding an Eagle pack (that's the one I recall off the top of my head) to work with a PRS.

That's the awesome thing about getting old; my stupidity rarely surprises me.

As for a stock pack, I'm not sure how or why one would install on in a way that didn't diminish the purpose of the PRS stock. What problem are you trying to solve with a stock pack on a PRS?

I have been using the ACCU-SHOT RAIL MOUNT MONOPOD on the bottom rail mount on my PRS stocks that I purchased from Brownells 1 have one medium size and one the large size (different bipods) that allowed me to do away with using the rear bag. They are somewhat expensive but much for practical that modding a stock pack. I also have used them without the bipod using a front Sinclair rest and works just as well. I think in most cases the medium size will work best but that is dependent on the bipod or front rest used. I have an GG&G Extreme Heavy Duty bipod on one and an Atlas on the other.

People, Jerry does NOT want a rear bag... He was asking about a stock pack so he has a little purse to store all his little necessary shit in, just like we all have on our bolt guns, just adapted to the PRS stock.

This has got me thinking... Other than the original poster, are there people who'd buy a small pack, designed to be attached with Velcro, to the side of the cheek riser on a PRS stock? If there's enough interest, I'd contact a couple of good soft goods manufacturers and see if we can design something and get a group buy together. I know I'd buy one.

Also, if there's interest expressed in this thread, I'll start another tread to solicit further feedback.

I'd be in for 2 or 3 myself.
