What to Build from Tikka 300WM?

Not saying adg isnt better than hornady, but the hornady 6.5prc brass I have used is far from shit. Pockets are still tight at 6 firings with 140@3100.
more to good brass than just pockets

not saying the hornady stuff isnt fine, but there's a reason the top shooters shoot lapua/peterson/alpha/adg and not hornady

Why would you go that route?
300 wm in Tikka is limited to light bullets due to action/mag length. Going WSM with 1/10 or 1/9 twist barrel you can use 338 Lapua magazines and you can load 200gr+ bullets to next couty and have room to spare. This will give you on par or better downrange performance than wm with lighter bullets

I'm aware and I wont use anything but lapua in 6creed. I haven't tried adg, peterson, or alpha. I've used a bunch of lapua in 308, 6br, 223, 6.5creed, 6creed and 243. It's all been good stuff except for the 243, it had very poor nk thickness consistency. Every case had to be nk turned to get it right, not had to do that to win or hornady. All my brass gets checked after that "enlightening" moment. All the lapua brass has been fine since then. I'll chuck it up to shit happens, but when people just throw blanket statements, my ears tend to perk up.

I recently had to make the same decision on my tikka build and went the 300wsm route because I wanted factory ammo and wanted to run the bravo. For me it came down to time management aspect. Although I like the ballistics and recoil of the 6.5prc, 7wsm, 7 saum more then the 300wsm I wasn’t willing to spend time on the press and 300wsm wins in the factory ammo availability department.

I am partial to making two big holes in just about anything I shoot and also burning a bunch of powder each squeeze of the trigger. I would recommend a Ruger 375 of maybe even the Ruger 416, hard to imagine a situation you would be under gunned. Capable to shooting anything on North America from prairie dogs (maybe just all hole instead of two big ones) to Polar Bears what's not to love about an all purpose round like that, the ultimate truck rifle.

All kidding aside I have a 375 Ruger and enjoy shooting it the recoil is not bad, nothing like my 416 Taylor which is a wicked bitch on the shoulder.

Go big or go home,

Ive got a 338LM if I want big / lota powder. Thats not the rifle Im looking to build. It will get hunted with very little. Id justlike something a little better at ELR than the 6.5Creed.
