Since H1000 and Retumbo seem to be unicorns, what is the next best choice for powder to use in .338 Lapua? I can find US869, and Ramshot Magnum, but seem to find where other folks have had mixed results with them. I can also find some Reloader 33, but hear folks say it is very temp sensitive. What is your backup plan?

VV-165, VV-170 and VV-N570 would be three, as well as RL-25.

You don't say the bullet weight that you shoot, which is a problem with suggesting powders. I stick with the 250s and VV-165 and VV-170 are my go to powders, along with H-4831sc.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I will be mainly shooting 300gr out of it.

I've been using IMR5010 for some time now with the 250gr SMKs. It works very well and has been accurate. Velocity with lapua brass has been in the 2900fps range using Fed 215M primers and 97gr of powder. I've not run any of this powder with the 300gr bullets as I save them for my subsonic 338BR but I imagine that powders like the H50BMG might be a good choice. IMR 5010 is frequently available as surplus pulldown so it might be worth looking into.
