I picked mine up for $134 including tax, I think in the 2006-ish timeframe. They are decent enough rifles, and were great back when they were the cheapest reliable semi you could get, but ARs have gotten way cheaper, and they've gotten more expensive. There's way too many better options in the same price range for me to give SKS's any thought. Hell, I picked up an RM1 special Garand with a new stock and Criterion barrel 3-4 months ago for $750, and you can still get rack grade rifles for $650... Hard to figure opting for an SKS, even if you want something historical.
I always have used the US governmental buying policy.
Why buy 1 when you can buy 2 for twice the price........
