What's a good cheap digital powder scale?

I'm looking to get a decent digital powder scale which I may use for reloading in the future, but the primary need is for measuring .490 lead balls for my muzzleloader.

I've been reading that flyers are caused by balls having bubbles in them and can be identified by weighing out your balls.

Not sure how much they weigh, but it's going to be more than the regular powder charge.

Does anyone have any insight into one that will work for my needs?

If all you are doing is weighing your bullets I would suggest the Frankfort Arsenal DS-750 scale or the Hornady GS-1500. Both of these can be had for around $30 or less when they go on sale, I got my DS-750 for $19.99 a few months back from Midwayusa. Both of them are a little under sensitive for trickling light pistol powder charges and would sometimes skip 1/10 of a grain on the display but for heavier items like measuring bullets weight they both work great.

Sorry, I couldn't resist....

If you're going to end up using it for powder measurement I wouldn't get the "cheap" ones. They'll end up frustrating you in the end. I like my acculab vic 123, but it's a bit more at around the 240.00 price point.

However, if it's soley for weighting projo's I think the frankford arsenal one would be fine.

Cheap is a relative word. If you want an accurate and dependable digital scale you're going to have to spend a few bucks.

Take a look at the Gempro 250. It's a professional grade jewelers scale. I have been using one for years and have been very happy with it.

This thing has been FANTASTIC. I've had it 3 years and its been perfect. Holds zero, repeats. What more could you ask for. You can get one for $20 shipped.
