Maggie’s What's Your View II

Today, the doc made house calls, the office today....

These patients were helped get over sleep apnea...

Mrs. Wile E will not get to feed her children tonight, nor raise any more calf, deer, or Turkey killers, and the doctor said this was good.

And, the scene awaits the Hardrock Match Saturday...

And this evening, back to....

20190430_103142.jpg

Did I mention I am really tired ? Almost too old for all this...

Doctors office needed shade at the Hardrock firing line...

As the Hardrock manicurist sought clarification....

And after manicure, the range waits for its visitors...

And all the Hardrock missed again excuses... the wind, the load, the gun, the scope, the loose screws, the relay, the heat, the mirage, the missing link behind the eyes...?????

Hope they play to the end this time.

@j-huskey, I was gonna ask when you were showing pics of pumping water the other day, why you let your grandpa out there and get all messy? Youngsters should be doing some of that work..... ?

Looks like a good day in the office to me!
Mine was computer issues all day after the IT nerds “upgraded” some crap on my main computer......

Yesterday I taught two lectures to a large group of new grad nurses.
Some of you old boys would have been having chest pains.....
Plus there was a nasty fatty to make @Dirty D happy

Hope that “friend” is a lady..... ??

From a guy who wont ride one. I know myself. 120 would be fun, so I would want faster.
Traffic in Denver is stupid crazy. The bulk of all I see is loose gravel (like our Trooper in VA) and other people.

Im mellowed out now with kids and all.
Probably saved my life.

@AIAW. That STI looks pretty fancy man. Pic just showed up for me.
I am scared to shoot one fearing I would then need one.
I wonder if they would make one with just rear serrations similar in look and size of an OG 1911?......

Hahaha, it's a big pill to swallow. They are definitely proud of them and not giving them away (unfortunately). If you shot one you'd most definitely want one!

Yeah, you could get a straight-up STI 2011 Tactical - 4.0 or 5.0 (barrel length). The picture below is only missing the funnel and threaded barrel, slightly different grips (grips technically being an entire polymer assembly). I believe you can pick a full or half rail also.

Fapping....... ?

They are sweet lookin.
With 3 little ones, I best stick to my “practical” pistols for now. Ya know, the ones I carry, when I shoot. As time allows though.
I was envisioning the vertical very narrow serrations like a SA GI model or an old GI style Colt.
Love that look....

Yours is for sure unique and dang cool. Like a chemistry equation on a pistol slide.

I hear you there! Every man deserves at minimum one high-end handgun or revolver I think.

If you ever get to a point where you want one I am positive that STI would put together (and cut) whatever your asked them to. They are no strangers to light to heavy custom work, which is awesome.

This pistol screams quality. Just racking it, no joke, sounds like a sewing machine ;)

So want to to get a classy 1911 in 45 though.....
Like a Volkmann or Yost.....

Or best yet, take Bill L’s class (of cylinder and slide) and build my own..... ?

Good stuff is a fine rifle or pistol.

As is a fine woman with soft skin...... im outta here boys

Hey J-Huskey, correct me if I'm wrong, but that leg hold looks a lot like a Montana #2 or #3. I run a few of those, plus some old Montie #3's. Flat set or dirt hole?

#2 and dirt hole. Works like supposed to. Dogs are super smart though. Really hard to fool.
The ones we are getting right now are thin and rough, really hungry.

Two years back, in one area, 100% fawn mortality, based on game camera pregnancy spotting, and both game camera and hunter non-spotting of fawns. Had to do something. Getting 20ish a year.

The pigs are un real this year. We are 4 pigs shy of the 10 years high # as of 05/02.... this is going to set a record.

That C&S class is worth every penny.

Cash was awarded the literacy student of the month for his school this morning so I took a few minutes to go in and give him a high five ? for his hard work. Might have smelled like diesel fuel and motor oil but he was happy to see I made it.

Company creeper van filters and oil change, this thing has twice the miles mine does and pulls a 7800lb trailer in the summer. The little 5 banger diesel does pretty decent

Hi,

Sneak Peek at the Large size receiver...Medium and Xtra Large are pretty much same design and features :).
2 Years of design and testing finally completed.

Edited To Add:
Bolt Stop is completely manual, no springs or levers.

The firing pin spring in which you have to compress in order to rotate the extra 30deg at that exact location is 158 Newton Meters so there is no way to accidentally rotate the extra 30deg while running the bolt.

Not me in video lolol

Theis

That’s an interesting way to release the bolt?

Hi,

We pressure tested receiver couple days ago to 152k and nothing come loose, fell out of place or broke....
We did have to cut the receiver open to remove the barrel. Brass was torn all to hell and filled everything lol.

At 130k everything still functioned.

Theis

I need one! That's my normal pressures. All of this 52K/55K/62K PSI stuff just isn't cutting it

It makes sense. Smaller case at higher pressure. Solves the problems with the really big cases not having powders available to make full use of them. Think of the possiblities of RL26 pushing a 416 cal bullet at 120k?

Hi,

The cartridge case ripped and tore apart...basically welding the lugs to the breech plug.

I am going to try and get the BWA 10x100 to operate at 100k for daily use.

That is the exact reason I started this design to have receiver from ground up with as few moving parts as possible, alloys that have been chosen, etc...all because we are not getting powder companies to help us, so lets up the pressure "rules".

Being handicapped by yester-decades pressure "rules" is dumb....I am done with that shit.

Edited To Add: Bolt Disassembly....notice how short the firing pin spring is, lol.

Sincerely,
Theis

Geno, you’re being a jerk...... just rub it in a little more......
