Yeah, we went through that whole nightmare. The one thing I insisted on early on was NOT using her kid against her Ex. She was definitely on board with it and it was definitely the right path to take. We had bet that at some point in his life, he’d realize we were looking out for him first and foremost. He did at about age 14. I have to admit, the wife and I did take a certain amount of satisfaction from that. And, we didn’t do it at anyone else’s expense. He calls me Dad and I call him Son.

Patience is definitely a virtue in cases like this. Always put the well being of the kid first. If you’re going to fuck up, do it somewhere else, on someone else’s dime/time.

nothing i could have written could have expressed my thoughts as well as this

Thanks guys.
My parents brought him out to the house. Dad brought the dogs. The boys and dogs went for a walk, took the SBR for totes and because we had the 2 dogs. My son kept saying he wants one he's 3 so a few years away.
Wish I had my phone. My son was holding my dads hand with a dog on each side and my dad had the SBR across his chest. The picture would have been great.
Dad and I carried him most the walk but he's the one napping at lunch.

Who dat pretty lady?..... ?

So no pics, was driving at 70+ and phone was in my pocket.....

As you come out of the mtns on I70 towards Denver, you pass the buffalo herd and then BAM! you are looking down on Denver.

Well tonight the moon was orange like Trump, bigger than Hillary’s ass, and about 10% as pretty as momma, just above the horizon. There were a few light streaks of clouds in the sky with a couple crossing the moon just perfectly.

We had been at a BBQ at @Claymorx for his birthday and had a great time.
He is old. Just know that.
Also got to hold a 3 month old baby, which just made my day.
A true blessing and a beautiful reminder of some mighty important things.
He farted and pooped while I held him, which also made my day!

While on his deck we were visited by turkeys 3-4 times and a monster of a mulie (5x4) with great height on his rack. Just a little velvet still hanging near the bases of the antlers, down past his jaw line, making him look a bit Orthodox....?

Babysitters cost a fortune!!! $13/hr for 2 kids.

Here is but one of many openings to much larger/extensive tunnels that the Italians dug during WW1/their battle(s) with Austria. The Italians did a pretty good job of kicking the (Hapsburg) Austrian’s asses, but at a very high cost in human life on both sides. The Dolomites are riddled with tunnels, trenches and abandoned gun emplacements. I plan on doing a lot more reading on the history of the WW1 conflicts here, but from what I have seen, they were massive and widespread. I would like to know more before I return to see more personally.

Kids had a great weekend. Ty ran a large XC meet Saturday morning and his team won. Beat his PR with a 17:56 for a 5K. He’s the only freshman on his team. They’re ranked #1 in class 3A.

From his meet we went to Graces volleyball tournament. They beat several 4 and 5A ranked teams to win the tournament . They’re also ranked #1 in class 3A.

I actually let them rest today. Fishing and a nice evening out. My advice to them is enjoy this time in their life. Play hard and have fun.

@tnichols

I never ran CC due to my asthma being so bad as a kid. 17:56 for 5k (3.2miles for you morons) is darn fast.
I run now, but like a slow old man. Which according to the kids, I am....

Both of em should be proud, as well as you and the boss lady.
I still run, but that pace would put me on a gurney!

You're not the spring chicken you used to be either you old redneck.

Also, didn't you start off the day with 3 kids.

Not really, all I did was a Tiger cruise in 1990.

Good enough. That warrants a Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, CSP (Carrer Sea Pay), an the title of Honorary Shellback !!!!

Where'd ya go putting around? Tiger Cruises are a BLAST I thought. Fun having people that have never sailed come onboard. Especially the Pineapple Cruises from San Diego to Pearl. Did they conduct some flight ops for ya?

Mayport to Newport News. Friend's husband was a dentist on board. Air wing not on board but flying in/out as we went up the coast so got to see a lot of captures/launches and even a couple supersonic flybys. Still have a holdback? that snaps on launch but can't remember what plane. Great experience!

Thanks! I always figured it was “carrier vessel”.

And to make it more confusing they started adding CV"A", CV"N", CV"L", and so forth. Keeps things interesting I suppose.

In the United States Navy, these consist of ships commissioned with hull classification symbols CV (aircraft carrier), CVA (attack aircraft carrier), CVB (large aircraft carrier), CVL (light aircraft carrier), CVN (aircraft carrier (nuclear propulsion) and CVAN (attack aircraft carrier (nuclear propulsion).

So, to clarify what he's saying, it translates to:
Boat. :)
