Maggie’s What's Your View II

you gotta move the boat to the right a little bit, homeboy is still in the street...
i want what you guys are drinking
lol...

Trust me on this one, if it keeps raining and blowing the way it has been the water will find that boat right where it's at. He's had 6ft in his basement a few times since I've known him and hopefully the County has made the correct road and tide gate alterations to keep it from happening anymore. DirtyD likes my 'sippy cup' as well. He even said so. While we were prepping the Boat one of our other friends Wife came down with fresh homemade fortified eggnog and fresh nutmeg. Then the Whiskey Jug got broke out for a good 40 minutes or so. You'd have fit right in. ;) Tummy is a bit puny today for some reason.

I got some new lure wires for your project. I'll tell ya this, it's been a bitch to try and get a lure that small built off my jig. I'll get it but I've gotta come up with a new way to skin this cat with the gear I have. Stay confident and remain patient. I'll get these damn things knocked out.

Astounding progress for just over 3 months. Impressive.
Is Congress involved? :p:rolleyes:

Fresh nutmeg on eggnog is something you never forget.
My dad makes egg nog that is the best I have had and my mom busts out the micro planer and shaves some fresh on top.
No whiskey added. That just gets drank after!

I more than deserve that. But I'm telling ya. The short wires I bought for this project are a real bitch I'm finding out. I'm going to try and modify my heavier/longer ones and see what happens. This is a first on making this small of spinner. I got this Tucker, god dammit, I got this...........

We worked out a pretty good system. Pull off the half gallon, pull off the eggnog sippy, then a nice long pull of ridiculously cold Beer. :p It had the desired effect.

Wow. That’s one hellofa view right there... i’d even forget I was blowing snow!

Agreed. Pretty country. It would be tough to stay on task with that to look at. I’d end up running something through the blower cause I wasn’t focused. Stick of firewood, family pet, 1J04’s propane tank, etc... New shear pin.

Yes, it certainly has been a bit nipply lately... Did some shooting the past couple days and the DA around my parts has been running from about -2800 to about -3400’ as well. Dog enjoys listening to himself bark. Guess he thinks the dense air makes him sound tough. At least it’s dry and not windy. I was actually out and about today with a flannel shirt and wool sweater.

We were fortunate that our property is adjacent to state and BLM land down to the lake. There are cabins and homes down there too, but plenty of access. It's Canyon Ferry Lake east of Helena.

Very nice. That whole dynamic with BLM and state lands is still a bit difficult for me to understand, since it's not as much of a thing down here. In hearing from some of out out west it certainly seems to allow access to some beautiful country.

Bogey,
There are also thousands of acres of school lands out west.
When I lived in South Dakota I hunted on property that had lots of school land within the owners property lines.
I was told by one of the ranchers that access to the public was mandatory for these school properties.
It seems that most people weren't aware of that requirement.
Another cool thing out west is CRP lands that are leased as walk-in hunting property.

Here's how South Dakota does it now.

Thanks man. Being another southerner you can understand what a foreign idea some of that can be. I can imagine the Feds telling a southern farmer or Rancher that he doesn't really control "his" land

You ever head out west, hit me up I will show you some of that beautiful land. Your part owner, should check it out at least once.

Yeah, don't tell him it's Netflix.
For some reason it doesn't put out much heat.
I was gonna swing by and see him today, but I left my mom's after 4pm. The traffic is too shitty to try that route after commute time starts.

I shoot in some chilly conditions at times, but as much as I’d like you all to think I’m some tough guy in the cold, this is how far I walk from a warm house to my firing position. Taken from our kitchen while the gun/scope acclimates to the ambient temp of the great outdoors...

Is that a tactical shooting mat disguised as a moving blanket?

^^^^^^^^^^^^:)^^^^^^^^^^^^

Tactical woobie.

I shot the other day when it was -11F. I put a goose down comforter on the deck under my mat. I had it back on the bed before the wife even knew....

It is sir, along with the tacticool paving bricks to hold it down in the wind. Evidently the manufacturer of my real shooting mat skipped the cold weather testing in International Falls MN. It’s like cold rolled steel in these temps.

For all your tacticool shooting supplies, contact Ace Hardware in Mt Vernon IA, ask for John or Andy :). Great Stihl dealer too.

I woke up in the wrong fucking latitude this morning. On the plus side, at least part of the day will be above zero, and it's going to warm up enough this weekend for us to get snow and freezing rain for me to drive back south in.

Maybe I'll go do some ice-breaking on the river and see if skipping an artificial frog across icebergs works the same as lily pads.

Stay warm up here brother.
