NOTHING drives bass nuts the way the spinner I posted does.
I have caught more big bass on that spinner than all others combined.
You run it fast, just under the surface, creating a wake on the surface, and they will not ignore it.
Tuck, I'm willing to bet the secret is in the blade, the rest of it looks pretty straightforward. That blade problably makes a lotta "wumpa wumpa" as it's spinning around. I have used the Mepps, as Barney suggested and was somewhat successful.
For my Salmon/river fishing, I use a Kitimat spoon. @ 3/8ths of an ounce, I can huck that thing almost over to the opposite bank and cover a lot of river with each cast. Caught a lot of nice Coho's with them. Probably not an appropriate lure for your useage though.
