All loaded up again. That took way too long...

View attachment 6901049Little cash ran the kyl today! 1/4" at 50yrds. I have the video of him hitting the last one. Don't know how to post it. But his excitement was awesome!!

Good for him! Leave it to us northerners to provide shade in this sweltering 75 degree weather ;). Miss Lori cut my hair on the deck this afternoon (its on the south side of the house) and I thought I was gonna die.

@MtnCreek , I didn't see anyone respond to your post a few pages back regarding those plants by the crick. From the picture they look like Elephant Ears, which like damp environments. I've got them (a purple variety) popping up around my Koi pond.
Some varieties produce a lot of small "ears" and others produce leaves that really are close to size of a small elephant's ear.

Trying to make a little scratch on the off time for pew pew pew goodies putting these forms/footings and french drain in. Cool project with a really neat 20x30x16 metal framed shed. Heavy Duty Tarp with man doors on each end along with roll up entry on each end. This at the new guys place from California that he bought from my friend Ron who passed last year. Great guy.

When we finish I'll follow up.

This pic was taken in the field just over the back of my stooping buddy above. Rest in peace Ron. You are missed. He always said, I'm gonna be the healthiest dead guy you've ever seen. He really was. Even with all the chemo n shit, he was always good for doing something, even for just an hour or so.

WOW !! Nice damn job right there. That outta take care of that. I can picture the water in there, trust me. I'd really like to see how it works out. How deep is the ditch on the right? 4ft? And what's it drain into? River, Swamp, Creek?

This was my view a couple of weeks ago when I got home from the Boston trip. The tavern had had a couple of parties and sold completely out of draft beer over the weekend. Monday morning my buddy, the owner, was able to get ONE keg delivered, of the beer I drink. Everyone else was SOL

Let me start at the beginning, this is on my daughter and son-laws place and it’s almost as old as mine. He farms and owns a couple of business including an excavation company. l drove over last week-end and got pissed when I saw three bulldozers working and an and an excavator laying pipe. The scale was so large I thought he was developing it. The run to the left is over 1200 yds! My daughter almost busted her sides when she saw my face. We all had a good laugh well some of them did. There was an old county system coming from the top left and it collapsed years ago in several places. They’ll never fix it and frankly don’t have the resources even if they wanted too. It goes into the creek that you can see and it’s about 4’ deep and 6’ wide but normally has less than a foot of water and it meanders for about a mile to a river.

LMFAO I can see your concern. But to tell the truth I never considered 'development'. So is that like a big ass french drain system instead of just a ditch separating the fields? Just curious cuz it looks eerily like a piece of land I run around on and have been thinking about trying to get the owner to do something like this. Win Win really. If he doesn't, I'll still kill ducks in the standing water that should be field. If he does, more pew pew pew $.

Saw this big black bear on and off last summer but he was eating a lot of half rotten salmon so I gave him a pass. Here’s his tracks last fall during freezeup just upriver from my house.

That's a Big Ass Black Bear. I'd of called bullshit, but from my limited experience I'd say the short claws and spread toes alone indicate this isn't only a Black Bear, but a BIG son of a bitch. What do you think? 400-500? Gotta be easily 400 minimum, no?

Would love to see it. Long Island and the Long Beach Peninsula has one of the densest Black Bear Population, if not thee densest which I believe it is, in America. They're everywhere and reach giant proportions. Guy killed a 500 pounder couple years ago bout 4 miles from my place. Right in basically his back yard. They take some huge ones on the peninsula and the island. They're everywhere and a HUGE nuisance.

Show me this Bruin Dead !! ;)

Oh, I’ve had a reticle on him quite a few times. Watched him for over an hour through the scope last fall during moose season. If he hadn’t been into those rotten chum all last summer and fall his quarter would’ve run out long ago. Keeping an eye out this spring but so far no sign. I’ll let you know if I catch him! ?

From last spring. I ended up removing its face on the cape as I didn’t have enough salt/alum to do the lips and nose. I decided I’d just use it over the back of a chair so the face didn’t really matter anyway.

Tough week here in my paradise, friends.
I lost something dear to me and perhaps some of myself in the process. Still working through some of it as best I can, but part of the process of getting yourself back is to go back to where you last had yourself.
Due to numerous projects and distractions, the trigger time has been limited to non-existent. Ditto for wetted lines, which is a fucking crime for someone so incredibly lucky to have a stocked pond on their doorstep.
Don't get me wrong. I enjoyed my diversions, and got some incredible memories to hold on to from them, but it's time to re-center and get some group therapy.
I'm rusty, but I can promise I haven't forgotten how ride this bike!

How long outta the den on this one? Hide appears immaculate. NICE. And thanks for sharing your epic journey. I can't even imagine.
