Hi,
Super CLOSE!!
AUH

Sincerely,
Theis

Ahh, thanks. I made it a point to never check a bag into Dubai, but had a vague memory of the lighting scheme at baggage claim which seemed familiar. I also arranged for a Marhaba rep to escort me through immigration which saved a bunch of time and aggravation, but I was generally distracted talking to her on the way out of the airport so I know I missed a lot of details. I never flew into Abu Dhabi, unfortunately.

As of right now a 454 with a small blower run thru a TH400 trans, 3000 or so stall with a 4 linked rear with some fats 30inches tall and 16 wide under it. the fronts are 28 tall and 8 wide. short back story , it was a buddy of mine who just passed of cancer in October 2017 and he got it from his grandad who bought it new ( it hasn't see day light since 1994ish last tag was 83). My buddy never had time to mess with it as he was truly helping other folks, so I'm trying to build it in his memories and to what he always said he wanted it to be like. he also gave or sold the running gear to help other folks who needed it. anyways... it s a slow project and will more than likely change as it moves forward and depending on what I'm able to sale guns and what ever else I can to get the funds raised and some donations come in. I will say this is all new to me. I have never liked to even work on cars much less get this involved, that was my buddies thing. So he is probably laughing at me when I'm raising cain on stuff not working right.

This is the meats that going on it I got from donation of folks who knew him. front on left back on right.

I helped a buddy in high school restore a 59 apache. That was one fun truck! Looks like you've got a lot of hours left and off to a good start. What's the drivetrain plan?

I do like a nice Nomad . I tought about doing a LS but it just seemed more fitting to do it how my buddy always said he was going to do it.. "old school".

55 Nomad, in the rough.
Have new rear quarters for both sides.
Slick firewall installed as well.
Have all of the side trim and eyebrows.
This thing has a truck load of bright work.View attachment 6908862View attachment 6908863View attachment 6908864
Boyd rims, 20" and 18" riding on ride tech air suspension with Wilwoods.

A blown big block and an air ride 4 link sounds great for an old Chevy like that! Good looking wheel/tires too

Thanks, I'm going to go coil overs. I have seen to many problems with air stuff. I'm trying not to throw any undo problems into the mix from the start. I'm not saying one day it won't be bagged but for now going old school..LMFAO

This is from Grand View Point, Utah, looking down on the White Rim and the Colorado River, Canyonlands National Park. This picture is sized down from a montage is 7' x 18' at full resolution, made up from 16 pictures. At this size, it looks pretty lame, sorry. At 7x18', it's total canyon porn, trust me.

No pics from today, forgot my dry bag and Pelican case for my phone on the river.
My truck is in the shop having a couple booboos repaired. Rental truck (‘18 F150) doesnt have a topped to lock my gear in while we are on the river. Totally spaced a couple things today parring down the gear so i could lock what was left in the truck cab easily.

Took by brother who just moved here, my 13 yr old niece, my daughter and my lady rafting today on the Cache la Poudre outside Ft Collins CO. We stayed on easy stuff due to low experienced paddlers and my 6 yr old being along. Lots of fun, couple cold beers, great picnic, amazing time with family.

Time for a quick shower up and somedowntime. Been at it since waking up just before 5.......

Big family get together yesterday at our house.
It poured on and off most of the day, and I was getting worried about our fireworks show.
The rained stopped just before it got dark, and we were ready.
Had the trailer all rigged up and dry in the shed. As soon as we got our break, we hauled it out there and cut 'em loose!

Video shot by a friend.

So I got a text from a Hide'r teasing me about the "total canyon porn" comment, saying it's a pretty shitty picture, etc. I totally agree that shooting into the sun is a mixed bag if you want to be an Instagram hero, but part of what I do with panoramas is just document places, so I'll put up with haze, glare, etc. Here's a crop of that picture in post #4482 that gives you a hint of what the full pan has, why they named it the White Rim, etc. I've got a pan shot a couple miles farther south that has better illumination, so I'll try to find it when I get time.

Another first in my adventures running back and forth to work. So there I am, minding my own damn business coming into the hell hole to hang with my peeps. I'm cruising along the Naselle River just before the junction of where Hwy 4 starts at the junction of Hwy 4 and 101. There's a long slough along the road across from the river. It's a Wood Duck and Mallard haven. So like I said, i'm minding my own damn bizness at 'approximately' 55 when a flight of Mallards decide to haul ass outta the slough like the Alert 5 Fighters off a Carrier. I'm looking at them just ahead of me and see it's 3 hen's and 2 drakes, cool. Then I'm think'n shouldn't there be BAM ! Yep. I've hit a lot of shit on my little trek back n forth to the gulag, but I've never actually 'hit' a duck. Well, today I finally added duck to the hit list. I barely seen him coming and it was done. WHAM !

Seen him hit the windshield, had a delayed reaction of course, and what? Yep, I ducked. lmfao He flew, not so gracefully, and crashed into the grass bout 20 yards off the road. I thought he totally jacked up my rig, but it appears he only smudged it.
