OK, but...

There was referendum to establish a water well consumption limit on the big aggro hereabouts, and somehow the dingbat voters voted it down. The consequence is unregulated draw on a water table that is already too deep for many individual well/homeowners to manage affording to replace dry wells.

This happened back in the 1950's/1960's here and a lot of residential owners were driven out. Memories are short around here, and when the property values end up in the dumper, they'll have to look in the mirror to find whoever is responsible.
