Where to get ammo now post

The reason 22 ammo is price like it is . STUPID PEOPLE PAY STUPID PRICE FOR IT. You need to get it from the same supplyer they do. They are jacking up the price because STUPID PEOPLE WILL PAY THEM
Where do you get it? The normal guy can't afford to buy 50 pallets of it. I'm assuming thats how the big stores are buying it. Please explain

Man....Brownells just called me and said that they made a mistake and don't actually have the SK I ordered. They offered to back order it for me but I have a feeling some of you will be getting that call soon.

I swear once this is all over I'm gonna stock up on like 10 cases....... but I said that last time too 😢
I had well over 20k rds of 22lr and sold most of it. I just would never shoot that much. I kept 3-4K rds and still have a lot left. But none is precision so still will take forever to shoot. Even now getting into precision not sure I’d ever shoot a case worth. Lol.

You, my good sir, need to start shooting more then. Or send me any that you don't want :)

I'll blow thru a couple bricks a month

My issue, I was bored shooting 22lr. Plus I traded away my AR15-22. I did keep my SR22 handgun for newbies and my son to shoot. But now with precision I’m behind the 8ball on that ammo. Oh well I’ll buy just enough to keep me in the game. And hope for the ammo craze to calm sooner than later.

So I went to a gun show today. There was ammo every freaking where! But folks wanted stupid money for it. $40 for 100 primers, $115 for a brick of Remington.22, .308 started at $1.50/ea and went up, 6.5 C was $79 a box!

Lots of pistols and semi auto rifles, inflated prices especially on the usual suspects.

I took the children’s old crickets in since they haven’t been used in a few years now and I had one offer while waiting to get in then sold them at the first both inside.

Some people were buying but not many. Hopefully the prices come down.

There was no powder or projectiles that I saw.

The gun shows I have ever been too we’re all like that. Everything way over priced. Even when guns and ammo were abundant.

Same observation from me last weekend. No shortage, but absurd prices, and I didn't see anyone buy a single box. Not one.

Good.

I was talking to one of the managers that purchases ammo for the local sporting goods and he said more than one manufacturer is telling him to expect up to a 15% price increase across the board when things get back to "normal"

Federal/CCI and Remington all stated several weeks ago to anticipate a 3-15% increase in ammo costs. They site not just increase in consumer demand but an increase in cost of getting materials.

That's a lousy (I'd actually prefer to use a much less polite modifier) business practice to raise prices on existing unfulfilled orders.

in two yrs we're going to see a glut of components, ammo, and guns on the mkt
Maybe, maybe not. It's estimated that there are 8M new gun owners since the beginning of 2020 and I read a comment from a manufacturer (was it here?) indicating that they were backordered through the end of next year. If half of those 8M decide to "stack deep", it's gonna be a long while before we'll be able to buy cheap.

Time will tell.

a case of Norma TAC-22 shows available on Midway for $1,253.99. Comes out to 25c per round. Not a great deal unless your rifle really likes the ammo and you need it

what I'd like to know, given I haven't seen any online in a while, is where is surplus 308 selling? 22lr one can still get, albeit at higher price and sometimes not but I've seen zero malaysian, DAG, MEN, LC or any other surplus online

Why go for that when these guys have it for 17 cents per round and Norma Match for 20 cents per round?

Yes, they have 223 at 70 cents per round and Norma .300 Norma Mag 230gr Berger Diamond Line Match Ammunition at $4.50 available. Its a little pricey but in stock.

I've ordered with them once recently and got my shipment fairly quickly. Nice packing and no complaints from me. Everything as advertised.

Noob here... just getting into precision .22!

Can someone tell me what a "normal" price would be for (brick):
1. Lapua Center-X
2. Midas +

I can get these pretty easily locally but don't want to get gouged (too bad). LoL
This is what I'm seeing as well. Folks act like they've struck gold because their LGS has ammo/components in stock @ gunbroker/gun show pricing.

Ammo/Components are plentiful as long as you are willing to pay for them.
