This may have been discussed before but I searched as well as skimmed back through sever pages but didn't find anything. I'm wanting to get into a matching turret/reticle style scope to try my hand at long range shooting. The scope on my rifle tracks great and does a wonderful job but with it's single turn ballistic turret it's only good for 500 yards with my rifle. I'd like to say I'm going to pony up and spend $1500-$1700 but in all actuality I'd have to sell my Swaro that's on the rifle at the moment to make it happen. So this leads us back to the tread title. Do you all prefer the Weaver Tactical 3-15x or the SWFA 3-15x for about the same money? Input would be greatly appreciated from first hand knowledge of both. Things like how the turrets detents feel and thoughts of overall build quality. This will be going on a Tikka Varmint in .308 so recoil isn't an issue at all. Thanks all in advance!

i vote the swfa super sniper. i have never owned one but i will soon. i have owned a 10x, 10x hd, 3-9, and a 5-20. they were all wonderful scoped tracked excellent and the customer service was great. i will buy another scope from them again. i have never had a weaver but they look ok too.
I do not have experience with either, but I can tell you I spent the past two weeks researching for the same variable power and ended up with a weaver due to all the reviews, price point and features. Swfa has them right now in there sample list as demo A pretty much new with full factory warranty. Gave me a great price with a 10x 3200 trade in. Worth giving them a look.
I've had both, I still own the SS. The weaver had a slight edge in glass clarity but I hated the stupid pop up turrets. The SS is smaller and can be mounted lower and the turrets are nice and simple. It has very positive clicks. It weighs less and the cat tail is really nice.
