I've shot 130's and 140's so far , have some ELD-m 147 haven't tried yet.
Shooting Ruger american right now. Is lighter and faster better?
I see bullet makers going heavier but the 6mm are shooting like 105 g. which is heavy for that caliber.
Lowlight podcasts talk about speed being better so is anyone shooting lighter than 130's out of the 6.5?
Target shooting on steel out to 1000 yards.
Whats your experience?

My go to projectile for 6.5 Creedmoor is 140 Berger Hybrids.

I haven't played much with projectiles in the 130 or less weight class in 6.5 Creedmoor, I haven't really seen a need to stray away from the 140 Berger Hybrids, they shoot so well and do well at distance. Before I reloaded, I shot factory Hornady 140 ELD's and Prime (130's), and can't say I saw any advantage of the 130 class bullets over 140's - mind you, this was factory ammunition which handcuffs you a bit compared to reloading. The 140's shot better out of my rifle, so I had a tendency to stick to those.

When you can't get the speed to launch a 140 appropriately, I can see how the 130's and lesser weighted projectiles would be a compelling option. Otherwise, I would choose a projectile that your rifle/barrel seems to like the best. Stick with it, learn it and shoot the hell out of it.

Thanks for the Info. I have never seen Lapua bullets in the stores around here., Brass no bullets. Is there a good source for them?
I've see the 500 pc packs of the Burger 140 Hybrids at several stores.

I like the 100 fps increase in speed I get with my Berger 130 AR hybrids over the 140 class bullets. I'm running 2850 fps with RL-16 at 2.800" cartridge length. No pressure signs at all. One ragged hole at 100 yards. 7.9 mils up from a 100 yard zero to get to 1000 yards. I'm not changing a thing.
