Which Geissele?

I finally have the coin for a trigger for my AR. I have done my homework and have decided to go with a Geissele.

This AR will mainly be for slower fire at steel, tactical marksman type shoots, and a few coyotes here and there. A good 2 stage fits the bill perfectly for what i want it to do. So I decided on the G2S at first to save some money.

But I would really like to try 3 gun in the near future and so I'm wondering can I kill 2 birds with one stone?

Is the G2S gonna handicap me if I attempt to use it for 3gun?

Is there a happy medium?

I want to stick with Geissele.

(I am only asking about triggers not barrels, buttstocks or optics etc.. only triggers.)

Any help is appreciated.

I love the SSA-E on my Gap-10. Perfect for what you want to do.

My vote is with an SSA-E or high speed national match. But really it comes down to personal preferance. I tend to really like the SSA-E so it has found its way into most of my ARs. Have you had the opportunity to try any of their triggers?

I have not tried one yet, but I feel confident based on the overwhelming love for them across the community.

As far as the SSA-E goes, how does it compare to the G2S?

For the two uses you described you need two different triggers. The ssae is great for your intended use until you got to the 3gun part. If you're not worried about being the fastest then the ssae will do fine but the sd3g will be better for 3gun as the name implies. It is a much faster trigger but for precision long range stuff not so much. It breaks too quick. I use my ssae for load development and then the 3G for blasting. It works well on my 14.5 for quick firing and hog hunting. The ssae resides in my lower that is used for my 300blk and 20" 5.56. I've never tried the g2s so I can't compare but they're worth it for sure.

The g2s doesn't use a high quality of materials. It also is going to be heavier than the ssae, it's the cheap version of the ssa. Ssa is the trigger you want for possible combat and high stress or hunting. The ssae is the ticket for precision. Geissele has a trigger to fit every need. Personally I like the dynamic triggers the best and so my newest build wears an sde.

It's another 60 bucks over the others, but for that you get an adjustable trigger with half the lock time and an even cleaner break. If you are shooting for precision, it's about the best there is in the AR platform.

DMR and match are for precision i use both.. i alse use ssae ssa and dynamic..like comment ^^ it depends what your going to use it for geissele got you covered

If you are shooting for precision, it's about the best there is in the AR platform.

Not for field use it isn't. No doubt the nm is the best bench rest trigger for the ar out there but it will require a totally different setup to be field safe IMO. My buddy has one in his grendel and it's awesome for punching paper but not for hunting coyotes. The nm doesn't have any cleaner of a break than the ssae it just has a shorter break if you adjust it right. The nm requires the sear to be set right on the edge and the second stage set very light to get the full benefit of it which will not be a setting you would want for field use. The ssae is the perfect mix of precision and safety for a gun that won't live just on the bench. Of course that's just my opinion but I own or have shot all the ones being discussed. The nm is good and I will getting one for my 20" bench and prairie dog gun.

I agree with this statement. I'll have my second lower with the high speed national match as soon as GAP finishes my GAP-10 (I sent one in to have them install on my build).

It's a totally different trigger than the ssae. It's more like a single stage. A very nice single stage but really only good for blasting fast but I also prefer two stage triggers so I'm a bit biased. Depending on your usage you might check out the dynamic line. The flat trigger blade really changes the whole feel of the trigger.

For a blaster or 3-Gun rig, it's hard to beat the S3G or SD3G. These triggers now come with both 3.5# and 4.5# springs, currently, to better tune the gun for its intended application.

For precision, the SSA-E is a far better choice. If you like to cheat, consider one of the Geissele Hi-Speed NM triggers.

Best if you can feel them for yourself.

My favorite is the SD-E.

We build a lot with the SD-3G and people really like that one too.

I really prefer the flat trigger bow.

I shoot three gun and play around with precision AR's. I used to love the 3Gun trigger until it started to double (well actually made it very easy to bump fire) I tried the heavier spring still not joy. Sent it back to Geiselle and still no joy when it got back to me. I replaced it with a SSE and love it. I can shoot very fast with the SSE even on close range stages and it has never allowed me to bump fire it when firing from an awkward shooting position. I also love the flat trigger. I have two other Geisselle adjustable match triggers in other AR's and they are fine too but I really like the SSE the best. Simple no adjustment drop in basically.
