I’m looking at 3. Mystic precision, Lra, and the one I think I like the best and would appreciate hearing from anyone who has it, the Phoenix tactical bipod that mounts on top of the barrel. I know it’s from the uk, was hoping someone had experience with it

Thanks ahead of time

I have two lra bipods, ultra light scout and a light tactical. Easily my favorite bipod. The only other bipod I might consider at some point is the ckyepod.

My Phoenix Bipod is turning up hopefully in the next week. Standby.
Tho, I assume you are not talking about the Phoenix for benchrest but Phoenix tactical bipod from UK

What exactly are you going to be using it for?

Mystic precision is not a tactical bipod, and the guy who runs it is a complete clown. Wouldn't give him a cent of my money.

LRA is good, I have it on my .300NM rifle. Again, not tactical though.

Check out the Ckye-Pod.

Looking for a fclass stability out of a more “tactical” looking bipod. I do not want to put a duplin, Seb or Sinclair type bipod. But want the stability of one. I have the large accu-tac which is great, But want a little more

Get the Ckye-Pod then. It's just as stable as my LRA, but with "tactical" features. Absolutely love this bipod.

can I ask where you ordered your Phoenix bipod from?
This the other company who makes it. There from Germany. Phoenix is from the UK. https://www.vikingtactics.de/Fortmeier-Zweibein/?language=de

Apparently the guy who designed it did not have it patented, So there are to company’s making it. I do not know if the build quality differs. I only could find a review for the Phoenix out of the UK. But the one made in Germany is cheaper I believe

Yep Dogs all over it, I got the Phoenix from the designer in the UK. Very helpful guy, quick service and got it posted fast.

Will advise when here, but it's a very logical design as far as I'm concerned.

I love my LRAs (I have two). One is the F-Class and its a bit more low slung; the other is the tactical. They are both super solid, can handle a huge rifle (I'm using one on my 30-325 lb 2 mile rig). they mount to a rail, not a post. They are spendy, but you get what you pay for in my opinion.
Don’t the rubber feet not allow the lra to slide with the recoil?

i have them all, lol. been a bipod nut forever.
LRA is really nice but its huge when it folds up, doesnt fit in anything.

Phoenix is my favorite if weight is not a issue. High enough build like a tank.
Phoenix over barrel, not the under barrel one the US team uses
i actually have 2, one for the bench and one for the field or other surfaces.
i took some super aggressive sand paper and rubber cemented it to the feet, you can actually load the bipod on almost any surface.
if im in soft ground or sand i stand the feet up and let them dig in.

Cool. Thank you. You have the Phoenix made version on both? Or fortmeier version?

A lot of people recommending the Ckye-pod. Which I have not heard of till now. It looks nice, But does not have the really wide stance the others have. What makes it so good?

I have the SEB, LRA and CKYE-POD

They go in that order of stable and also in that order for adjustable.

THey all are so different. If I had to pick one it would easily be the Ckye-Pod. Solid and adjustable.
Good luck!

I do have a Seb as well. The Seb mini. There is none better. But, just a smidge to big to attach to my rifle ;)

So I'm yet to get my Phoenix, but I have 2 theories/plans.
1. Its heavy and big, but very quickly attached. So it will be belt stored.
2. From what I have observed in pictures of it, won't take much machining to attach an Atlas feet adapter.

Uhh the Ckye-Pod can definitely be adjusted to be wider than the LRA (and I own an LRA F-Class bipod as well) and the Mystic Precision POS.

If you want to just shoot off of a bench, then sure, get a LRA or something else. If you plan on shooting any sort of field or "practical" shooting type matches, you are going to want something that has the versatility of the Ckye-Pod.

There's a reason why you hardly see any LRA's or similar type bipods in the field.

Never heard of Phoenix before this thread. Ordered a spigot adaptor to allow me to use a versapod or my RPS bipod on the KRG Bravo chassis. Not cheap, with shipping from the U.K., but hopefully it works out well.

You can load forward on it a slight amount. There’s also a little screw on the underside of the spigot which when removed allows the rifle to rotate a significant amount side to side. And finally the legs extend a decent amount. Pictures to follow...

Please note that the Phoenix is now made by fortmier Germany.

Brian the U.K guy collaborated with them a few months ago.

I have one on my Sako TRG and will also be used in my Fix when it arrives in the U.K.

Just noticing your post on the Phoenix. Did you get the top mounted? And what was the cost including shipping?
Hey brother, it wasn’t cheap. I think around $650AUD.

I’ve had it mounted on my Q Fix for a while now. On such a light rifle it makes maintaining a steady position easy, really easy. I’d definitely recommend the top mount out of anything else, as the change in centre of gravity makes a massive difference.

Only modification I want to do is adapt it to use Atlas Bipod feet, it’s be perfect then.
In regards to the spigot mount, it’s very quick. When I hunt I leave it in a pouch on my belt, along with a spare mag and range finder. So the added weight doesn’t really slow my rifle down.

I’d like to compare it to the Cyke Pod, but in reality - it’s like comparing rear bags, there’s overlap in their uses but they’re all unique.
