Who has built a "do it all" rifle?

What reticle did you go with? And why did you feel you wanted to replace the ATACR?

I went with the MSR, which is a known quantity to me since I had that reticle in the 5-25 I owned. I have absolutely zero intention of replacing the 4-16 ATACR, but it's a perfect fit on my tikka with the Manners T3 stock - the smaller objective matched with the APA low 34mm rings allows me to get a great cheek weld without needing a raiser/stock pack.

Great pair. Can we get the full specs? Barrel contours and lengths, etc?
The top one is stainless T3x 7mm-08 lite shortened to 17” threaded 5/8x24 to be used with aac supresor mount as it indexes off the muzzle and not the shoulder. It’s bedded in Manners eh1a with CTR bottom metal.
Bottom is a T3 CTR shortened to 16.5” and threaded 5/8x24 and it’s beaded in Manners EH1 with CTR bottom metal

What performance are you getting out of the 7-08 with that configuration mate?

Conjured up and tried a few different builds over the years in an effort to find "the one do-it-all rifle," and have ended up with this. It's a GAP Gladius .308, with a Surgeon action, Manners T2A Elite stock, Jewell trigger, NF 2.5-10 Mil-R, Badger DBM and rings, and a TBAC 30P-1 can. It covers all of my hunting needs, and the vast majority of my target shooting needs.

I’m not sure such a beast exists...more a study in priorities and compromise than anything...how small is your all? How much hassle / hustle will you endure? You’re sticking to hunting and long range target shooting, to include matches if I understood you right.

First, what caliber will do those things well? You can argue a 6.5 or a .25 - I’d say it depends on what you hunt. If we’re talking the spectrum of traditional, non dangerous, NA game up to Elk at extended range, I’d say you want a 7mm - lots of choices, but if you want a “factory” choice, plane old 7mm Rem Mag is a good one...more hassle/hustle can get you an RUM/STW/etc.

Tikka seems to be the hotness right now, but you can get into the action of your choice - I’d say go with something you can drop in a KRG Bravo. It’s a good piece of kit that is fairly light weight - you can look elsewhere, but the stock certainly shouldn’t be heavier than the Bravo.

Get a 26 inch tube - if you’re gonna rock a 7mm out to long range, give it what it needs for the powder it burns. You could consider Proof Research or something like a Med Palma or Sendero contour traditional steel bbl if you’re willing to push the weight a bit.

This will be waaaay too much gun in terms of caliber and way too little in terms of weight for match/target shooting - but, you’ll be able to do it. Drop the hunting requirement or restrict/play with the game and range a bit and you open up the field for .264, .257 and .243 class cartridges - as long as you “bring enough gun,” you’re good.

What's the weight on that thing? Specs?
And did you go with a mini chassis? Looks really good
Cheers mate, details are:

- GA Precision Tempest
- Manners PRS2 in elite moss with mini chassis
- 26 inch, 8 twist Proof Research medium palma, chambered in 7mmSAW, APA little bastard brake
- Badger rings with 4-16x ATACR
- Area419 arca stuff

Weight is just under 6kg.

It’s shooting about half MOA groups at the moment with slapped together loads. Needs another hundred rounds therough it before I start load dev. I honestly prefer this rifle to any others that I’ve shot or owned.
