Who has the right to ask to see a tax stamp?

I'm glad I don't belong to a communist club.
I wonder if anyone has brought up what kind of liability is there if someone steals an identity after viewing the stamp?

I belong to a local Rifle Club...it's really nice. *Really* nice. But I almost lost my shit when at orientation they read the whole rules book, bit by bit, and I'd missed the fact that it was against club rules to carry concealed in that "no firearm, concealed or otherwise, may be taken to the firing line while loaded" Bullshit....an NRA only Club that wants it's members to either unload their personal carry guns or (better yet) leave them in the trunk?
I still carry my EDC and have never been called on it *but* have witnessed other members being escorted off the premises and having their membership revoked for doing the same and getting uppity about it. I don't like the rule but I support the club and really like shooting there. I figure if I get called on it I'll figure I'm not concealed enough/printing and decide at that time if I want to make an issue of it.
It'd be the same if someone I asked as a guest was asked to see verification of some sort.....they can tell the other member to fuck off but all that'll do is get us both kicked out (me maybe permanently) and I'm not sure I'm prepared for that. If it's a private club one plays by their rules or shoots somewhere else the next time. I'm not into confrontations and all that shit where literally everyone on the premises *paid* to be there, follows the rules, and is armed. Not cool IMO.

This, with the possible exception of LE. LE can not request your w-2/4, 1099, etc. Those are legal tax documents, and only those involved are privy.Law enforcement, BAFTE, the IRS. Remember kids, it is technically a tax stamp.

Pretty lax, but well manned.
Other Private Clubs, one I just joined, cost more, but like I said, club shooting in my area is the only way to do mid and long range practice, attend competitions.
Do events like competitions or training classes want to see stamps on items requiring them?
I sure would hate to travel a great distance for a comp or class and forget my tax stamp.

Belong to several private ranges and have never been asked to show my Stamp. That being said I keep copies of my Stamps in a ziplock bag in my range bag should I ever be requested to show it. Best not to get confrontational with folks at the range since I have witnessed enough yahoo's at ranges over the years.

everyone else can go fuck themselves at your descretion. can some range safety officer actually check if your stamp and NFA serial is valid? No, so I would reach into my pocket and pull out my middle finger.

I'm in Virginia and belong to a members only range. When checking in and you bring your suppressor you must get the serial number verified by the guy behind the counter(range representative). It's to make sure you own it legally and keep BS problems away from the club. I'm OK with that. All members are told to act and speak up when they witness "safety" related issues. Mention it to the person and then take it to the office. I'm OK with that too. Pretty laid-back club overall. Never had a member ask me anything about my suppressor except what brand it was..
I swear Bayou Rifles is run by a bunch of old Fuds and Camp Perry type of shooters. They really don't care about adding more shooters. Don't know how many times we have asked for steel only to get voted down. One of the reasons I am no longer a member there and I live like 10 minutes away.

Depends on the context. If it's somebody like a range safety guy and it's a range policy to verify such things AND you want to keep using the range, the range safety guy can.
If LE catches you with the can it's technically a prohibited item in most jurisdictions. The stamp is your permission slip of sorts that verifies your lawful possession.
In an age of solvent traps and such it's a small inconvenience to show LE and avoid going to jail over it.
Technically, I think it's really just the ATF that's got the ability to verify it and what not so they're probably the only ones that can demand anything.
If you're in your house or it's out of sight LE would need a warrant to search for it.
If they see you with it, it's plain view and they'd be dicks but they could hassle you about it

My stamps are in a file in a gun safe. Never have and never will carry one around unless I'm leaving the state.
If they don't need a warrant, then they'll get to look anyways. Til then they can go fuck themselves.

What I think is insane is that there's nothing about a suppressor that makes it a firearm.
