Also, how do we get some punishment going for this shit? If you sponsor or sign a law into 'law' that is later found to be 100% unconstitutional, something very bad needs to happen to you as a result.

According to it, I have been on the shitter for the last 15-20 years.
The only reason I opened the account was to keep my good name from the assholes.

The chance of getting out of the system’s control is when more and more people realize this and we remove ourselves in mass from the system and make it hard on those that try and persuade us otherwise. I’ve said this a thousand times in just as many ways. Opening peoples eyes is as quickly as possible is critical.

We as the gun community just don’t have very good messaging to the non gun community who’s minds we can change, but we are getting better. The simple fact is there are a good portion of the non gun community that are terrified of people that carry guns, own lots of guns, and buy thousands of rounds of ammo at a time. They are simply ignorant of the fact that those who do the three things above are not only their smallest threat but very well could prove to be their savior in any given circumstance.
The facts are very simple, law abiding citizens apply for carry permits and criminals and mass shooters do not, law abiding citizens often will have multiple firearms, and law abiding citizens buy large amounts of ammo because they plan to be using it over time while mass shooters are happy enough with a few boxes of ammo.
The media has done a bang up job promoting ridiculous gun myths, and we’ve done a terrible job of dispelling them one person at a time. But it’s just not guns, the media promotes every asinine socialist idea while downplaying anything resembling common sense. We spend to much time arguing with people who have their own agenda to ban guns or implement name the ridiculous socialist idea here no matter what the facts are, and to little time talking to people who are simply misinformed and who’s minds can easily be changed.
Simply put we are up against a media machine that past propaganda masters would envy. The answer is already happening on it’s own, we are seeing new gun owners in numbers we haven’t seen in decades, and we are seeing the woke culture implode before our eyes. While I support organizations like GOA on the legal front, the real fight will be fought and won by converting the people we meet everyday to our cause.
I don’t know how this mess will turn out in the end, but something will have to give, it’s simply not possible for a nation this divided to survive. Laws such as New York from the op are so much bigger than guns, when presented with the facts on gun violence there isn’t a reasonable person without a agenda that would argue that guns laws have very little to do with criminal gun violence, and much more to do with a systematic conversion to socialism.
The only reason we haven’t seen a Chinese revolution type take over of our government is the 2nd amendment. The storm is coming, I hope we somehow come to our national senses before it hits, if not I cannot see the 40% willing to cede their freedom in exchange for food delivery and Amazon dominating the 35% willing to defend their freedom at all costs, with the remaining 25% sitting on their futons wondering what happened and waiting for a social influencer to tell them what to think. I truly believe we overestimate our enemies strength which relies only in paper orders and paid enforcers, and underestimate everyday the power of a group of strong people who at some point will collectively say we have had enough.

I believe, staunchly, in states rights. I don't live in NY. In Alabama, we now have constitutional carry! I will continue to renew my carry license, for travel purposes.

All laws must fit in the framework of the constitution. I care about laws anywhere that don't, even if they don't effect me yet. They are working your direction where ever they are.

I’m not on social media that much, I opened a Facebook account 13 years ago, within the day my crazy bitch of a ex wife messaged me so it seemed like a bad idea and really haven’t used it much since. I am curious, like on here, while I realize someone in the government probably knows everything I type, for your average government employee can they actually admit to finding your social media accounts? I would think unless you put your name everywhere on them the solution would just be yours, when asked you just don’t have any.
"Social Media" is not a legal term. And NY hasn't defined it. I really only consider things like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snap Chat, TikTok, and the like to be social media. I don't think internet forums count. Otherwise, you would have to give up your entire internet browsing history for the last 3-5 years and that's a huge no. If any interaction with another person online counts as social media (I don't think it does), then any comment on a news article counts, any review of a restaurant counts, etc. Cooking forum? Yep. Music service like Spotify? Yep. Account at IMDB or YouTube? Yep.
And that just ain't happening. And to verify, any Issuing Authority would have to have access to your ISP history, IP address, and that would take a warrant and a whole team of people to look at your history over the course of years. They can't do that for tens of thousands of CCW applicants.
And furthermore, my social media accounts are locked and set to private. Nobody can see any of my content unless I allow it. So sure... I could potentially supply the names/handles for my accounts, but no government entity is getting in unless they somehow get a judge to sign a warrant and force either me or the social media company to grant them access, which isn't happening.

Well it sucks, but challenged in court easy enough. Having to provide social media account access in order to maintain a constitutionally protected right is nuts. Imagine having to do that for any other right? And that was one of the foundations of the Bruen decision.
But then again, SCOTUS really has no way to enforce their decisions.
NY state will be very happy to be sued again and tie everything up in court for another few years. It’s how they operate.

Okay, so all you bashing NY, try to keep in mind that the real problem there is the small percentage of land, NYC, that has the controlling majority population and that is the armpit of the state. It is actually a beautiful state full of salt of the earth types that have the same opinions of their government as we do. It’s no different than California and Illinois in that respect. The cities hold the major populations and therefore set policy for everyone else.
