Been listening to Nicholas Irving's book The Reaper and he talks about the famous Chechen sniper he did battle with but don't remember Nicholas mentioning if he killed the Chechen or not, thinking not. If not is he still around?

I believe he killed himself right before Bob Swagger took on all those contractor guys. See, the CIA leveled a whole city block. Brought a building down on him. Then gave him a job in the West working for this chubby bisexual 6-term Montana Senator who had a voice like a squealing pig. Anyway, ruthless son of a bitch. He would shoot to wound.

Anyone need a shovel?

Didn't Bob plug him through the cellar door right before he got to the old lady and kid? Been awhile since I read that one.

That was actually an amalgam of characters from the book. Dude in the wheelchair was Lon Scott I think, not Bon Scott from ACDC.

Competitive shooter turned spook assassin. Also guy... according to the fictional world, that tagged Kennedy.

Solartov was the Russian that Bob tagged through the cellar door.

The whole series is really good. Particularly the third bullet or whatever it was called where it focuses on the Kennedy assassination.

It's set in a fictional universe but if you read the afterward notes they stick to facts with the timeline and present an alternate theory that explains how it could have been done.

And they tested the theory IRL and it worked. Drilled out the rear of carcano rounds and fired em through a 6.5 winmag or some such beast I believe and they vaporized on impact.

Was actually the book he planned to write first and instead wrote point of impact the movie was based on instead.

The series is definitely good!

I read his book "The Master Sniper" in High School... Set in WW2. Stephen Hunter has weaved his books through 80 years of history and done a great job of story telling.

The Swagger books and the Lee Child books (along with Clancy's) are all great reads!! Nelson DeMille is good, too.

The two authors who are picking up the mantle right now are Jack Carr (The Terminal List is coming out as a movie and looks like they may not have screwed it up too bad) and James Stejskal's books Question of Time and Appointment in Teheran with his new Northern Ireland book coming out soon. The new generation!

But, yes, Stephen Hunter spins a good yarn!

I'll read Master Sniper as I haven't knocked that one out yet.

Jack Carrs series is definitely good. If Amazon doesn't fuck it up and makes each book a season like the Reacher books they may have a winner on their hands.

I read his book just after it came out and liked it. I respect his work.

Aaand, he's coming across as a douche on every video I've seen him on, several of them.

I'd imagine that if one would sit down and talk to him like a man, he's probably good people. Probably not the character on YouTube.

I like to think so anyways.

Combat is very different from hitting steel...but as far as steel goes I am not impressed.
agree on both counts however, 8 shots at 100yds to get on target with a 12" steel plate is pretty bad not to mention the rest of the video. I actually would be embarrassed to have that performance on tape. If he's considered a top sniper, I just don't what to say because this should have been easy

It is what it is. Have you been in combat? Have you been a sniper in the military? I haven't, until we both have I'll just refrain from commenting on the video. Yeah I expected him to get on target faster but honestly I'm not a great shot so I'll just STFU.

are you fucking retarded? He's shooting at steel and while flesh is different, it has no bearing on this vid or his skills as demonstrated here. So take a coke, stfu, and stop being retarded. lol, fking loser

didn't they say "...300 yards..."?

I dont care what y’all believe military or not that dude can’t shoot worth a shit lmao.

If he killed 33 people it’s because he had a spotter set up the gun for him lol.

Kinda like when you go to USPSA and all the LEO’s are there. There is a reason they fire 60 rounds and don’t injure anything. They can’t shoot for the most part either.
