    I did!

Put in a couple (several all week) extra, come home, poured a stiff one, going to rinse off and enjoy this hot ass KS weather.

Busted it all this week, going to spend a little time with friends, a lot with family, and probably burn the midnight oil in the reloading room. (not while sucking on a stiff one of course). All the while thinking about what I could be getting done if I would just go to work!

All this just so I can pay some more taxes! Man this is the good life!

Well I thought I did until I read your post...

Actually, today was a surprisingly low key day with all the required materials on site and a reasonable time to install them!

While not as hot as Kansas, being only in the mid 90's here, I was in a 80 year old building with no AC, no heads (Shitters only...) and no electric light all day!

There was at least an occasional breeze though as that huge friggin storm is sucking off some of the humidity here!

    Enjoy!

My kinda guy. What with SS, welfare, foodstamps, stimulus, and my FEMA check from the recent earthquakes here in Virginia I should be in cheap red wine for a while.

You guys are lucky, I lost all my foodstamp money at the casino.

Re: Who worked there ass off today?

I'll thank you all for paying your taxes like good solid citizens. It pays my VA Pension as well as my Vic Rehab schooling here at APSU. Trust me, I give each and every day of school my best just for you because as taxpayers, you deserve nothing short of all out hard work. Took a two hour pre cal algebra final today, then worked real hard walking around campus trying not to jam my eyballs into my sunglass lenses with all the 20 groups of new students being led around...75% female and the worst part is they are so freakin YOUNG! My kids are either a little older or just a bit younger, but damn, what have they been eating? Styeriod Chicken? Holy Jeez!
Yeah, life ain't too bad for the weekend, but the real work is on the way come MOnday:
    0800 - 0900 Pre Cal, MTWTF
    1200 - 1300 A&P Bio II, MWF
    1100 - 1400 A&P Bio II Lab, Tu
    1730 - 2115 Gen Chem I, Tu, Th

I of course place my bar at A level, but I am a capable A, B, or C student depending on how much my riddled brain can handle. Polytrauma/TBI has taken it's toll, but I work and bust my ass to earn every bit of grade I get. ANd it's all because you all make it happen for me. Thank you

I had a good hard day at work. Set and trimed out 15 doors today. Stopped at another job to get some info for another job. I don't drink so no cold one here after work.

    BRAVO!

Re: Who worked there ass off today?

Just spent the day getting ready for Hurricane Irene, which is drawing a bead on us. At least we have some warning and some time to get ready. In about 24 hours we'll be in the peak wind zone. Preparing for the worst, hoping for the best. Wish us luck!

Re: Who worked there ass off today?

I am changing jobs next week because I did NOT work my ass off.

I watched 5 espisodes of OutLimits on HULU ...I am a professional "Rebooter"...and it's not worth the pay, my technical skills will go downhill if i don't use them...

Didn't you just get that job? That sucks that it didn't work out but it sounds like you've got a new one lined up.

Re: Who worked there ass off today?

I had to get up before 10:00 am, had coffee on the deck til about 11:00.
Took a delivery of concrete blocks.
    Lunch.
About 1;00 I pulled 2 batteries out of a couple of vehicles to put on charge.
Over heated at this point, so I quit for the day.
    Beer time.

    Retirement is so tiring.

Re: Who worked there ass off today?

    Well, maybe a bit yesterday.
0300 go on patrol for a few hours, come back and prep for the next one, out again at 2100 for a few more hours, re-prep and back out from 0100 to 0630.

During the hot part of the day between missions I sort of screwed off cleaning weapons, doing an awards ceremony, and chow.
29 hours makes for a long day.

It's all relative, man. This time next week I'll be back in the land of the big PX, bitching about how slow Ft. Lewis is...

Re: Who worked there ass off today?

Ive worked 7 days a week for the past month setting and moving Dies for the major supplier to BMW. Swinging 500 lbs of chains and moving 40 ton dies in the 85* plant becomes tiresome quick, and ive spent a month straight doing it. Good overtime pay though

Re: Who worked there ass off today?

    I work 7 days a week (80+ hours).... every week... 365 days a year.

I manage to get a few days off here and there for shooting competitions, but basically my work schedule blows.

Yeah, my old job I spent 10 years at...NOT the one that laid me off but hte one I left thinking the grass was greener.

But I take a $4 an hour pay cut...

On the other hand I go back to day shift, see my girlfriend more o ften, I have a life, and I can get back to writing on my book.

I keep my 15 year Tenure, get 3 weeks vacation per year, occasional late night tech support...

AND I CAN PUT MY SKILLS TO USE! Rebooting computers was not what I hired on for...

Lot of ego's here too, oh boy and how - usually you lose the ego within 5 years of being in the IT field...but not everyone..
