Who's savage barrel should I use? 223AI

Looking to put a 26" 1/8 223AI on my Savage and didn't know if an "off the shelf" barrel from Shilen or ER Shaw is the way to go or if you guys recommend anyone else. I'm planning on running 75 gr A-Max's and would like it threaded 1/2 28 for a brake. Thanks for the help.

I used one of Shilen's stainless Select Match barrels on my old 260AI and it was a friggin' nail driver...excellent barrel! I was planning on getting a 223AI barrel from them as well in the near future. The wait time is around 12 - 14 weeks though IIRC.

Could get one from Brux. VERY good barrels with a short wait time.

I'd stay away from the shaw! Take a look at benchmark barrels......

+1 on the Brux I have been very happy with their barrels and will be ordering a couple more shortly.

For all of the Savage barrels I have sold Brux and Lothar Walther have probably been the best I have seen. Brux is better in cost, lead time, and great to deal with.

Devin from Sinarms is chambering me a 223 Ackley in a Brux barrel. Quick turn around, custom contour and length and a good price.

I would get a Marlin barrel myself.

Lothar Walther from Spider firearms(Ferrett 50), good price, good accuracy, and easy to clean. I got one in .308 and am liking it alot.
