That's just your opinion. Ever wonder why there are so many different Mfg's making the same king of product? PRS is not the only kind of shooting out there.

Tho none of that seems to be a Leupold problem.
I just use the basic TMR reticle. I'm not finicky about objective diameter.
I like small an lite an for the kind of shooting I/many of us sub shooter do Leupolds get the job done with room to spare when the course calls for H/S shit an specialty's to be thrown as well. The MOA tree is great when your told no more knob'ing at all, where your knobs are set at right then, is they way they are for the rest of the match. I've learned to never knob anything anymore that way the math is easy an at the power ring stop at 2X subtention, getting to 400yds with a sub is easy. Wish Leupold would put the X in the top 1/3 to 1/4th of the glass an add to the tree all the way down to give it more usable on correct power then on min or 2X subtention there would be no need for the knobs, except to get a basic zero.Interesting.

I think that Frank hired you to generate some BS entertainment traffic. Thing that bothers me is that you are so busy spreading anything around to see what sticks, that you say totally unsupported opinions as definitive facts. For the record... of the thousands of people who are members here, only about 10 to 15 have any major problem with me.

I really wasn't intrested in starting a group buy. I really only wanted to get a cost per barrel from someone who has a website asking for customers to send their special requests and to contact him with their customization ideas.... All the while at a time when I am actively in the market looking to buy a custom barrel for my 457.
If you care to help me see both forest and trees, I'm all ears.

I don't like their reticles and hate the eye relief on their scopes. They work for a lot of people but for the money, I've never been impressed with them. It's all I used to shoot and switched to Nightforce or Vortex on everything. The only thing Leupold I would buy is a spotting scope. Sorry you got your feelings hurt in yet another thread because people don't agree with your opinion.

Therefore, I am a wise consumer and made excellent rational decisions in my buying choices. FTR... I've heard good things about NF, so... no need to denigrate anyone's choice of NF over Leup.)

The price difference between a TT and a Burris is hardly minute, even though they are both functional with similar feature sets. The fit, finish, and quality differences make the difference in price.
Optics need to be looked at like quality tools, yes they both work but they are designed for different tasks. Anybody that blindly follows brand loyalty saying their optic is the best for every situation is a fool. I love me some 5-25 action for LR shooting but thats not the optimal optic for hunting or on an AR for shooting less than 100 yards.
In my post I referenced "top scope manufacturers." (in the part you snipt) I don't consider Burriss to be in that group. Let's not compare apples to oranges.

IMO leupold makes poor quality scopes especially for the money on the high end stuff. I frankly don’t even understand how they are still in business. My prediction is that they will go under within the next decade. They are still resting their laurels on people who buy off the name and warranty.

Everyone has an opinion, an some are paid or compensated to have one. So someone clue me as to how many extra target or RL tag points XXX scope gets you over YYY scope? Internet B/S an hype is just that, an I for one don't see the tacticool market over shadowing the target or hunting sports at all. I've shot a few scope in my life an to tell you the truth, if I missed the target it was not because of the scope no matter whose it was. I've heard all the B/S about glass for years upon years, yet when I see these same experts off their home range or trying to shoot a somewhat different game they seem to have issues until they get the lay of the land per-say. Is that do to the fault of the glass,... I think not. Most say I shoot XXX points in YYY game or at ZZZ range, OK lets go to AAA venue with your XXX scope an see how you place with guys shooting what you say is junk an see how you fair first time out.
of course it goes without saying that skill is more important than gear, your stating the obvious.
However, understand that if your scope does not track properly, good luck making 1000 yard plus shots. Leupold has a poor track record for on tracking properly.
Secondly, this thread is about people spending their hard earned cash on something they can rely on. The reality is that most people here aren't shooting for a living so they want to make sure they use their time efficiently. That means their gear works and is reliable, sooner rather than later.
Save it, I'm not buying. I've shot Leupolds, Nightforce, Shit & Binders, USO, Buchnell an a host of others. While all have strong points all have week points as well. BTDT
If you don't know your glass before you go to a match or partake of other games that is your issue. I own 5 leupolds, 2 USO's, an 3 Bushnells all track w/o issue. My side kick owns 6 S&B's an two have never tracked properly even after they both went back to Germany for repairs. So to you does that make S&B an no tracking POS scope across the broad? People who hawk shit most of the time do so to justify what they bought. Everyone makes lemons, an tacticool is not the only game out there.
Well you are a small sample of the actual numbers. Frankly no one gives a shit whether you buy it or not, the numbers of people having issues with leupold speak for themselves. There is a reason why leupold scopes are not favored on this site. They make overpriced scopes with lots of issues.
Other than weight I’ve never been impressed with leupold scopes.

it's not my opinion, you might have been here for a long time, but it seems like you've been sleeping lately. The issues with Leupold scopes are evident, if you take the time and comb through what other people are saying, and not staying fixated in whatever you are most invested in.

The new MK5's are actually pretty good, Leupold seems to be heading in the right direction

Where I am from every rifle has a Leupold on it. Their market on the civilian side is 3-9x40 and 4-12x hunting scopes. I have several myself. Great scopes for this purpose. This is where they make their money I am sure. The tactical scope market is tiny compared to the hunting crowd where a 3-9 SFP makes the most sense not only practically but financially as well.
A simple reality is that we are a very small niche here on the Hide. A far larger group than it was 10 years ago, but still minuscule in comparison to the hunting market.
I saw a report the other day showing that the number of hunters in Michigan, Minnesota, and Pennsylvania would amount to the largest army in the world. Something around the number of 2 million(?). Over 36 million hunting licenses last year across the US. The very large majority of whom spend less than $500 on a scope.
There were 2000 registered shooters last year in the Precision Rifle Series. Less than a quarter of that in the NRL.
Leupold going under in 10 years? Not a chance. What we say and think on this site has nothing whatsoever to do with the big picture in rifle optics.
