What does a 2MoA dot look like to you under NVG (something like a DPP is worse than a T2) when bright enough that you can see it with your naked eye in the event you have to come out from under tubes? Does a dot that's twice as big make that better?

Flippant answers not withstanding, the question remains. I ask because the article specifically talked about what he wanted out of a "tactical auto loading rifle." Most guys who own NVGs and laser equipped rifles aren't involved in anything tactical and I don't know that there has yet been an instance of a self defense shooting that involved night optics. I seriously doubt it because donning a helmet and NVG to go shoot someone probably moves you into the manslaughter/murder realm since taking time to prepare changes intension.
I maintain that I don't want a huge dot under image intensified optics, and I need to have it bright enough that I can see it under white light. The most frequent thing I will adjust on the fly is laser settings (and it might not be prudent to use one all the time), followed by focus distance of my goggles, and very rarely my dot brightness (especially my pistol) so I want a smaller dot because a DPP 2.5MoA at the lowest setting can be seen indoors by eye but is still too bright under tubes.
I'm not making absolute statements because that is ignorant. I might be faster with a bigger dot in the day on my game gun but not by much; I have the buffer 7MoA sit in my PCC out of pure chance. At night it's not worth the trade.
I’ve got to say I love my Aimpoints. I remember reading years ago how all the money of a good red dot goes into developing a smaller dot that still has a crisp dot with sharp edge (no glare). If I want a bigger dot I turn up intensity. As someone above said, it is what’s the purpose? I have mine close by at all times with dot on for close quarter threat. Anything 50 - 100 plus yds out would have magnification. I have 2 T-1’s and 1 H-1. The NV workss much better with the Aimpoint vs other brands I’ve tried. I remember when they first came out and they showed the Aimpoint rep bouncing them off the concrete floor ….I thought that’s why they cost so much, but alas it’s the technology to make such a sharp dot that is small….I‘ll give someone a good deal on a T-1 or H-1 with mount so I can upgrade to a T-2…IM me….
