Of course for .gov it's easy to find anything. A guy was talking about getting visited by .gov and them having 3 ring binders of everything he ever posted anywhere. He had asked about guidance systems for drones or something and was being investigated for terrorism or something.

Everything we send over email and messages on social media/forums/whatsapp/etc is all logged and mined. So even if we aren't posting pictures of your systems, they are still on servers. If you have pictures saved on the cloud or in your phone, they are on a server with that company....and depending on the apps that you have or that your friends have, it is on those servers as well.

So while you may not have any pictures posted online, the ones you take on your phone are on servers somewhere outside of your physical device. When you give your name and address/email to someone for the new item(s) you just privately purchased through a forum or from a dealer's site, those are logged and recorded. Once something is online and/or on the cloud, then it is out there.

Tech shit is insane and there is no playing of the game "oh they were lost at sea" or "nah I sold those privately years ago." If someone wants to, it isn't hard to compile enough dots to hammer down exactly what you have.

I've photoshopped every serial # of a gun photo I have posted in the past. Usually, I made it say something stupid or offensive if I could with the original characters. Not because I saw this coming exactly, but something to the same effect.

Laughing at some of this shit,.. I know a lowly cell tower guy, who was contacted by a major carrier who had the US M/S breathing down their necks as they could not locate the phone of a missing VIP. Said tower guy found the phone, (an sadly her body 10 foot away) w/o blinking at eye is less than 60 minutes after gearing up. In a domestic terrorism case, they first flag your media. They mine it for catch phrases related to 'terrorism' (name your poison, white power, religious, whatever). If they find "something" they mine deeper. Associates. Photos with associates, weapons, locations, dress patterns, haircut patterns, different appearances. They build a profile.
Photos with weapons are looked at.

Gang photos with weapons, and visible serial numbers have led to search warrants, and recovered stolen guns. I have participated in a couple of those recoveries.

In terrorism cases, serial numbers in photos, traced to buyers provide more associations, and have helped identify illegal sellers....

It all depends on the perceived threat level how deep they will mine, and it will surprise most, what they can find. These levels of investigation are not the norm, not at all, but, the tools are there now.

But, considering how bad .Gov f'd up on some pilot training and several actual warnings of N. Cruz is going to school.... and the like, there are way more failures than successes.

And normally after an incident, the resulting investigation and mining, can take up to two years to find what they should have caught.....

It's a most imperfect system. And, it's not our friend. In a red flag state, peopled by gun hating zealots, you can believe they will put in the effort to improve it to make it easier for them to use against us.
The businesses coming out with mining capabilities are growing to meet the demand in those states.

Another known incidental is the drug store programs that identify who buys large amounts of precursors for meth, and how quick it worked to dry up the easy sources and make it harder for legitimate buyers to get what they need.

Damn, I dont even own ANY firearms. All were lost in a horrible house fire and I just come on here to remember the good times......
