long story short, it appears that my backup cable (cable #2 below) isn't working.

Cable #1 controls the RAPTAR functions.
Cable #2 does not control the RAPTAR functions.

Strangely, it appeared that Cable #2 was allowing communications between the RAPTAR S / ES and UTC XII. I will confirm this later today.

Any input, suggestions, etc., would be appreciated. My seller of the devices and cable #1 acquired from DRT, I'm going to try to call him later today.

Wilcox does not test cables before they shipped them out, mostly because they don't have an Oasys/TracIR unit. Even still, these cables are manufactured by a third party who also does not have access to an Oasys/TracIR unit. They have no way of doing QC/QA for this reason - not something you would expect - but it happens.

Your best bet is to give Dan a haller like you plan on doing. He's the last known source of the most recent and possibly last production run of these cables.

Update- cable #2 works in that it allows the devices to communicate and the impact shift and range info appears in the display of the UTC. It appears that the remote buttons don’t work.

Yeah boy, don't that give you a great warm fuzzy feeling.

Seem like lots of these manufactures cannot get the cable and functions working correctly.

Lets see.

1. Optics 1/Safran/L3 COTI and Binos cable & power pack cannot properly power the system for any length of time.
2. TNVC/Unity Tactical original Taps Pro would not work with the Surefire DF 600 and had a high failure rate on programing. (Discontinued)
3. Unity Tacticals Dual Lead Hot Button is years behind on its original release date they originally published (Pre Covid) (seems like Vaporware at this point.)

Like my old cuzzzzz who is a salesman says: "Sell em the sizzle then deliver the steak"

For the price these items cost, you would think you are buying a Ferrari.

Pretty much forces a man to learn how to "roll your own" so to speak. :)
