Will a Marlin XT-22 trigger assembly fit a 925-R

I bought a couple Marlin 925Rs for my boys' Christmas last year. No sooner than I did so (wouldn't you know it) Marlin has to come out with the XT-22 model with the "Really Cool" trigger system. I think that, intending to personally insult me, they scheduled the release of said gun to coincide with my boys opening their presents on Christmas morning.

But like an abused wife, here I am ready to be taken back if they would be willing to have me which leads to the question:

If one were thinking of upgrading one's sons' Marlin 925Rs, would the trigger assembly that now comes standard as part of the XT-22 platform enable a smooth transition from the exceptionally crappy standard 925R trigger into the world of way-cool(-for-prepubescent-boys) triggers? i.e. would it fit?

Might there be better upgrades from a bang v. buck perspective?

the xt shares a whole bunch with the previous 925s and 25s. i don't know if the xt profire trigger would share the same interchangability.

however the rifle basix trigger for a marlin would be an excellent replacement trigger, adjustable for poundage, creep, and overtravel.

otherwise trimming the upper existing spring a quarter coil or 1/2 coil and the bottom springe a quarter coil at a time will reduce the poundage and make it smoother, or replace the bottom spring with a bic pen spring.

but in the hands of "prepubescent-boys" (for safety and piece of mind sake) i'd go with the rifle basix. i have one in my 882, and it is excellent.
