Will carbon fiber rimfire barrels do well in competition?

I'd go with a short, lighter contour stainless barrel, in a XLR magnesium or aluminum chassis, a light weight scope and rings, personally I am not a fan of carbon fiber barrels and would look at other ways to save weight if I was to build a light-er comp rifle.

You may also want to look at a light weight Kidd.

We have built a few on MullerWorks barrels, shot very accurate and lightweight, we are currently waiting on some 1.250 strait carbon fiber barrels to chamber and test.

While I’ve read mixed reviews, I have shot with 2 folks running the Christensen Arms Ranger. The one fella swears by his for bench and squirrel, the other gent shot his several times in our monthly MARS events. He came in second twice against a field of big name equipment and shooters. At 5.1lbs you could do worse. Only caveat is prices seem to be all over the place for the exact same model, so shop carefully.

If you're building it for a kid I'd recommend a Tikka T1X, it has a super short bolt throw and the stock barrel profile is pretty light but also shoots great.

I'm going to put mine in a grey birch la chassis to shave some weight compared to the Woox Furiosa it's currently in. I'm debating swapping my scope for a lighter one, I already have the long forend for new chassis and bolted a 12"x1"x3/8" brass bar in it to help it balance. The stock shipped yesterday so I'll have it together this week and post how it balances and final weight

How do you like that WOOX chassis? And what model is it? I've been eyeing the WOOX's for a long time.

I have a 16in Paradigm RimX CFW. It does really well but at about 300yards the heavier longer barrels do better. It will crack supersonic every once in a while.

It's a cool stock and I really like the butt stock and all the adjustments but the forend is pretty tall for PRS matches. I've had it for a few years and I haven't had a single issue with it. I also really like how it comes apart with the push button.

I think I'm gonna put it on the PX or I might make a longer forend and snag a T3X to put in it, not sure which yet.

The most accurate of the three videos I had was my first which had a 18” proof barrel on it. Consistently 0.6moa at 100yds with the occasional .25moa group when the stars aligned. I can’t speak for any others, but the vudoo proof combo is super solid.
