Fuck. I knew baldness was going to really bite me in the ass one day. Guess I'll never be able to hold left edge for wind.

USSOCOM is not the entire US military. If you're waiting for cheap, once-fired GI 6.5 Creed brass it may be a while.... 6.5CM is between 50% and 100% more expensive than equivalent .308.
With the US and other militaries adopting 6.5CM, I expect prices to drop in the coming years (drop relative to other rounds) and once its no more than 25% more expensive than equivalent .308 - a barrel swap is all I need.
^^^^^Tapered clown pants and manbun..... fucken never.
Definitely enjoying the 6.5 Creedmoor though.
Handloading is the way though, getting the most out of your loads, rifle, and eventually, the dollar.
Plus tinkering with stuff.
155 scenar, 1:12, 2620, damn good trans and subsonic, Kingsville, DA 1500, at 1000Me experience shooting FGMM 175s from a SCAR 20S in a DA of 382 (Kingsville, TX in March) is that 800 is easily repeatable, 900 is usually repeatable and 1000 is just not achievable. Based on BallisticsARC and some experience, I expect the result would be much better here at home in Colorado, where on a hot day we can get a DA up to 9000 even on the plains at 5500 feet.
What stock is that ? Looks functionalWe’ve had hits regularly beyond 1000 with my buddy’s Gucci M14.

Nice work. BA shows you got 1261 FPS at 1000 with those parameters. Mine got 1065. But bullet weight seems to be a bigger factor than DA in the differences.155 scenar, 1:12, 2620, damn good trans and subsonic, Kingsville, DA 1500, at 1000
Its because guys try and "do better" with different powders, OAL, and all that jazz. 41.5-41.75 of IMR 4064 and a 175 SMk are like peanut butter and jelly.BULLET knows what hes doing,
but truthfully most people who reload cannot match the quality of FGMM in 308
guys will chime in a crush me and there are some serious reloaders on this site...but we all know its true

What muzzle velocity do you get with that rig?i only have personal experience to add from shooting in Kingsville.
i had no problem getting to 1,000 yards with 175 FGMM, 1:8 twist rifle and 22" barrel.
the FTW SWAT guys next to me using dept issued 155 grains out of their 18"-20" guns went transsonic at around that 800 yard marker. add in the 15-25 mph winds and there was no chance at 1k.
FWIW, 8 twist is sweet on a 308
Honestly, never fired that gun over a Chrono. No need for me with that fgmm ammoWhat muzzle velocity do you get with that rig?

Now I wonder why FN makes the SCAR 20S with a 1:10 twist. Anybody know? Would this reduce muzzle velocity? ThanksMy smith is trying to talk me into a 16” 1/8
.308 bolt. He has a barrel ya see….
Good to know it shoots the 175s well.
I need another .308 like I need another ex wife.
but will choose the former over the latter.

Understood, thanks. Charger442 said 1:8 is sweet on his .308, so now I wonder how these different twist rates affect stability, velocity, other ballistics. (I also wonder whether I couldn’t get to 1,000 that day in Kingsville because of a dirty bore, or perhaps a malfunctioning shooter.)1/10 is kinda the norm for a .308.
My 1952 is a 12 twist.
