Wind meter?

Re: Wind meter?

I had one and after a year bought a kestral instead. They are very questionalble and seem to be wrong most of the time....It makes it veeery hard to trust the reading. After a year it broke on me. Get a kestral for 30 bucks more you wont be sorry.

Re: Wind meter?

Another for Kestrel. OP if you read the reviews on that Caldwell, people have been having probs with that unit since 2007. By the sounds of it they only last a few weeks and then completely die.

Really a kestrel for $30? I'm all for a kestrel, but be a little truthful on the pricing...

Read carefully, FOR 30 BUCKS MORE, that's truthful.

Re: Wind meter?

^^ $30 bux more = $50-$60 = Kestrel 1000 wind only the blue one.

I have the 2500 and it does what I need it to do. Sure the 4500NV is a buy once cry once model, but I am not shooting comps, or an operator. I just need wind, temp, pressure and altitude to punch into a ballistic program to make drop charts. The 4500 has much more useful info (density altitude, a compass, crosswind etc,) and if my money or my life depended on that first shot, then it would be a no-brainer.
