I have a very simple question and I cannot find the answer anywhere pertaining to the windage constants that we all use for adjusting fire for windage. I know the process and know it was developed by my alma mater the Marine Corps but "how" was the formula itself developed? Any Ideas? Would appreciate any insight to this simple but for me perplexing question....Thank you!

Lowlight posted a fomula to determine your constant for any round you can put into a balistic calculater. I don't have time to do a search for his post and I don't want to step on his toes posting it.
Hopefully he will chime in. It's ralitively simple really.
Like any math, if you have two knowns, you can find the third, once you find the third you can work backwards to get the other two. Knowing that you can find any of the three.
(If that dosn't make since its because I'm not a math teacher).

There are no true constants with windage. It would require a perfectly consistent wind in a specific direction over non-varying terrain. Shooting for so many years I don't calculate. I read the wind and terrain and put my best guess on it for hold and get it right. Mental ballistics programs from real world application. Confusing but some people will understand my answer that has complexity but yet vagueness. Sorry!
