I don't know how/where you could do it, but wow...it would be nice if there were slot number and revolution markings on there to aid in identifying and reproducing the tuner's position. Just my first thought....more like a multi-revolution elevation turret. MOA/MIL marks and revolution markings so you know if you are at 9 or 19 clicks up.

Prob not feasible...I'm sure you have spent a tremendous amount of time determining the optimum and producible feature set...but this was my first thought.

Its not the first self timming tuner horizontal brake on the market i made and sold some 4 years ago and erik cortina makes one as well yours looks very much like mine but works nothing like mine but i dont make small brakes like yours so no big deal. I only make ELR sized brakes. The first tuner brake brake made was the harrells radial brake. Mine was the first horizontal port tuner brake and was the first controlled blast direction port tuner brake and there are several companies that use set screws on their tuners.

The biggest difference other than the performance of our muzzle brake vs the muzzle brake used in the ec brake will be the concept behind the device. The tmb was made to be durable and rugged which is the whole reason I believe tuners never translated and migrated over to the tactical side of precision rifles. A lot of time and design was put into creating a tuner that integrated into the muzzle brake and wasn't an after thought but still performed the way the best bench rest style tuners behave. I hunt sambar here in Melbourne and live on a large property, my rifles are always with me beating around in my truck or in the thick bush getting caught/beat on things, if I made a tuner muzzle brake it had to be durable. Tuners move in .001 of an inch increments between settings and they are not something that you want to be able to move should you beat up on it. Adjusting a tuner affects your group size and poi. The original ec tuner is held in place with the friction of nylon tipped set screws and if the same design is used for this new ec brake, with it on the end of the brake, it seems quite exposed to me. The tmb locks in place into one of 24 preset adjustments and cant physically move should you beat up on it unless you sheer both the 8-32 set screws in half. It also has no hard edges and smooth edges angles so it deflects off of anything its forced into.



Thats the ideal solution as far as im concerned. I tried to incorporate ball detent plungers into the design also but the minimum lengths made the diameter of the tuner too large and the overall design too bulky. Instead I settled for groves cut into the locking collar so the set screws tightened into them and lock the tuner in place and while also giving it a set number of repeatable adjustments per revolution.

It seems apart from the design in terms of shape and position of the tuner, the real difference is mainly on the manufacturer quality? TMB is more durable and the tuner does not move, EC tuner is possibly move if the same nylon tipped screws are used?

I am just trying to understand what I would get for the extra $100.

That’s a good way of looking at it.

I set out with the intention of making the tmb the sphur of the scope mount world. Overbuilt, full featured, modular and adaptable (which I’ll be announcing soon), premium offering with no compromises.

I didn’t want any laser etching, I wanted all the markings machined into the device so they couldn’t be scrubbed off/be removed with cleaners or get coated, which also meant I needed to make a proprietary tool to include with it to install the device.
The tuner had to be able to lock in place which meant 24 machined valleys under the tuner for the set screws to lock into.
The muzzle brake had to perform as good or better than the other top offerings (so you weren’t compromising on the brakes performance just to get a brake/tuner in the one device) and that meant complex internal geometry to beat the top brakes I was testing.
The design has only angled edges with a smooth radius so that it glances off of objects if it’s hit on things.
It’s also nitrided to increase its wear and corrosion resistance.

So there’s a lot more going on with the tmb and I think because of that the tmb would cost twice as much to produce.

I will be doing those tests in a week or so when I finally get some stuff I’m waiting on. I’ll put up the videos here when they’re done.

Preorders according to our supplier are on track for April. But I’ll update everyone closer to that with a more refined eta when they know.

First prs match of the year for me was today. The tmb worked really well, hardly any recoil, hardly any muzzle rise, easy spotting shots. Everyone that tried it out really enjoyed it.

Yes .338 and 3/4 inch threads are coming. I had to make a small design change to accomodate the larger muzzle thread ie change the jam nut and brake interface thread but it’s done and all brakes in the next shipment will have that change.

I also got my supplier to add an additional dye process to the nitriding process because after multiple cleaning cycles in clr they did fade a bit on the edges. So that should help them stay looking brand new for longer if you really abuse them.

It was a 16 inch 308 that weighs 9lbs. No idea the muzzle velocity was just federal gold medal with 185 bergers. Didn’t use my accelerometer or any of my other sensors just got it done quickly after work while there was still some sun left. Lol.

I designed it from the ground up and just have someone manufacturer it.

I didn’t design it around any one specific cartridge. It was designed around an average muzzle pressure, flow rate and temperate I felt covered a wide range of cartridges and barrel lengths.
Cartridges I did use for testing were mostly short action 6 creed, 6.5 creed, 308, 6.5 prc and 28 nosler.

I’m still on my truck axle 6.5 creed but it’s nearly shot out so by Darwin I’ll go 6GT or 6 dasher. Haven’t fully committed to one or the other yet.

You will be fine.
I'll be using a .30 on a 6.5. I wanted the option to switch.

You can run different brakes, providing it is larger. So 30cal on a 223 is fine. Also refer manufs recommendation, as they often have a guide on what's optimum, and what's compatible.

Tuners work on barrel thickness (density) and it's frequency (stiffness). So again, you should be set.

Im far from the best shooter or reloader and hoping the TMB helps me get the last little bit of precision I'm looking for from my system. The rest is on me to not be shit and perform on the day.

I'm going to the range tomorrow to dial in a load and will report back followed in a couple of weeks by a full independent review.

Here the TMB can be seen on my Accuracy International AX with a Bartlein 6.5 Creedmoor barrel which was spun up by APRS down here in Australia .

Very happy to support another Aussie company.

My testing is preliminary, but so far it works better than I expected. I used sig .308 factory ammo and shot groups before and after. 1 MOA before and about 3/8” after.
Obviously I need to try a number of different calibers and ammo selections before making any definitive statements.

Pretty much everyone’s already covered it well.
The tmb and its 4oz tuner is optimised for heavy barrel contours and even works well on carbon barrels.
The bergara hmr pro I bought just for those load development videos that can be found on the website/our YouTube really worked well with the tmb and its barrel was quite thin. I think they run a number 6 contour.

Today I had a chance to shoot a TMB on my AX with Bartlein 6.5 Creedmoor barrel.

The load I was shooting was made up of the following:

130gr ELDM
Lapua SRP Brass
CCI 450 Magnum small rifle primers
And
43gr of ADI AR2209 Powder (H3450).

Ive got to say I'm impressed so far.

Previously I had done an OCW test through this barrel for this load. I found a velocity node at the 43gr stated above. I loaded up a bunch of that and set to work with the TMB as per the instructions.

Setting 0 as the control group and worked in increments of 2 up to setting 16. I found 2 nodes at setting 2 and setting 10. Checked the two nodes again and settled on setting 10.

It is interesting to dial away from a node and fire groups then come back to it and find it landing in the exact same pattern as before.

Pictured here is setting 10 with a 5 round group. This is repeatable over and over again. Now to take it to a PRS match.

Further, I shot this off a bench with bipod and rear bag single loading due to some pretty terrible range rules. And I never shoot well from the bench compared to prone.

The group is 0.205 MOA as measured by ballistic x. It is 0.464 inch edge to edge.
