WOLF PERFORMANCE AMMUNITION=BLOWN UP GUN???

Has anyone heard of Wolf brand ammo blowing up weapons? A friend of mine who works at a gunshop/range near the shop I work at claims they have had one AR, one AK, and a couple pistols literally blow up while shooting wolf ammo. The AR I think I could understand cuz some of the Kali approved AR's will have retardized bolt carriers that have no F.P. shroud so they could technically fire out of battery. But he said that the AR he saw blow up actually broke at the rear takedown pin and basically "broke" open like you would do to clean it. Doesnt make sense to me but I wasnt there. Anyone heard of this with Wolf? I have shot a ton of it through my Arsenal SGL-21 and never had a problem. (Knock on wood)

Nope, never heard of that. I've shot a lot of Wolf and know people who shoot even more than I do. Unless you do something stupid with it (ie. barrel obstruction), it won't blow up your gun. I call BS.

Well good! Cuz I just finally got a bunch of it for my AK (Ive been out of it for a while) And have always liked the brand. Good to hear Im not the only "crazy man" who likes it. LoL

The guy I just sold my AR-15 in 6.5 Grendel had the extractor break from a hot load shooting Wolf Gold...

I personally haven't had any problems with Wolf Gold, but the last time I shot it was 3-4 years ago at least.

I've not had any issues from handgun calibers 9mm,45acp or 223, 7.62X39 other than just being dirtier than a hooker on an all night Bender. That's just my experience through about 8-10k.

I have shot a ton of the .223 & a fair amount of pistol ammo in a couple of calibers with no issues.

Many many many people I know shoot nothing but wolf ammunition but I have PMC bronze for my 'oh shit' stash instead. Wolf has always been pretty inconsistent for me, although the 75gr stuff that was out awhile back was pretty accurate.

My father in law had a major issue with his AR/M4 with Wolf. We were running through rounds and about half way through his third mag he experienced a failure. Being former Military as I am he did tap/rack/ attempted bang and nothing. The rifle didn't attempt to double feed so he pulled the mag racked it again and when the bolt went home the round went off with about half of the round not fully chambered. The bolt head was pretty much destroyed, shrapnel came out the ejection port and his gas tube was destroyed.

We are lucky no one was beside him as they would have been seriously injured.

I have shot a lot of Wolf brand ammo, mostly just their .22 LR match now, but I never had an issue with the center fire stuff either.

Thanks for the Replies. Looks like Im still going to use Wolf. I love the shit. With a scope on my SGL-21, I can shoot 1.250 5 shot groups consistently. And I have had em go ALOT tighter than that. Im using the 123gr HP WPA ammo and its amazingly accurate. And through 3 milk jugs full of water, The bullet is fully fragmented by the end of the second jug. Impressive. By the third one, its just pieces. The wound channel through the first 2 is huge. And if ya dont believe an AK will shoot good, You have NEVER fired an Arsenal AK. I hope that company never goes away. They are almost Godlike to me.
